Fakir Mohan University, Balasore was established in 1999 by the Government of Odisha, under Section 32 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989). FM University Balasore is a government university located in Balasore. The university is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). FMU has been accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), UK. The university is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)  with a ‘B+’ grade. Currently, it is functioning from the two campuses: The old campus at Januganj, beside the National Highway near Remuna Golei and the new campus at Nuapadhi, in and around Balasore town. Fakir Mohan University Admissions

FMU offers admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses to all aspiring students. FM University Balasore B.Ed and M.Ed Integrated admission is done based on the previous qualifying exam. Admission to the M.B.A and M.C.A programme is based on the entrance exam - OJEE followed by the OJEE counselling. Fakir Mohan University M.Phil admission is offered on the basis of an entrance test followed by viva-voce. The final selection is done based on career marks, performance in the entrance test and viva-voce. Fakir Mohan University admission is confirmed after verification of documents and admission fee payment. 

Fakir Mohan University Admission Process- B.Ed and M.Ed Integrated

• Selection for admission into B.Ed. and M.Ed Integrated courses is made on the basis of past qualifying marks or career marks only.

• Apply online through the Students Academic Management System (SAMS) of Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. 

• Eligible candidates are required to apply online in the Common Application Form (CAF) to appear in Common PG Entrance Test (CPET).

• The online CAF is available on the website of PG SAMS Odisha and can be accessed at any place where the internet facility is available. 

• Submit the CAF and pay the CAF fees online through the prescribed gateways.

• Admissions are done through the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) conducted by the Department of Higher Education (DHE), Odisha.

• Eligible candidates are then invited to appear for the Common PG Entrance Test (CEPT).

• The CPET subject-wise and state-wide provisional rank are prepared by combining the career marks (30% of the total) and marks secured in the entrance examination (70% of the total) by the candidate.

• The provisional allotment is prepared through a centralised selection process based on the subject-wise, state-wide provisional rank, choice of preferences as provided by the candidate, reservation and weightage detail provided in the CAF.

• Based on the entrance test result candidates have to take admission to their chosen field of study.

Fakir Mohan University M.Phil Admission Process

• Fulfil the eligibility criteria for M.Phil admission.

• Then, download the application form from the university website and send the filled in application along with a bank draft with other supporting documents.

• Appear for an entrance test conducted by the university.

• Candidates who have qualified NET (JRF), SLET and GATE are exempted from the entrance test. 

• Those who have cleared the entrance test have to appear for viva-voce.

• Selection for M.Phil admission is made based on career marks, performance in the entrance test and the viva-voce taken together with respective weightage of 50%, 40% and 10%.

Fakir Mohan University Scholarships

FMU offers scholarships to deserving and needy students. Fakir Mohan University students are eligible for a variety of scholarships offered by National Councils and State Government based on the results of +3 exams in Arts/Science/Commerce. Candidates pursuing postgraduate courses in university departments are also eligible to receive P.G. Merit Scholarship and loan stipend awarded by the state government.
