IIEST Shibpur for placements then, you will have to work hard. You won't get the best here.

But if you are keenly interested in learning your subject, then go for it without a second thought the institute is mostly research oriented and the faculty is really good here as professors are no doubt really experienced.

Fee Structure for the course of MTech at IIEST Shibpur - 

Admission Fee - Rs. 500

Students Activities and others - Rs. 500

Infrastructure Maintenance Fee - Rs. 2,500

Tuition Fee (fully waived for SC/St/PwD Students) - Rs.35,000

Examination Fee - Rs. 1,000

Total (Per Semester) - Rs. 39,500.

Definitely you should choose IIEST Shibpur CSE over NIT Silchar CSE. Following things to be considered -

1. IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 19th by MHRD. While NIT Silchar has a rank of 65.

2. IIEST Shibpur is in Howrah. It's proximity to the city of Kolkata gives you a lot exposure and tremendous opportunities to flourish.

3. Faculty is good at IIEST Shibpur.

4.At IIEST Shibpur, 

    Highest Package - 39.12 Lakhs

    Average Package - around 6 lakhs

  And in NIT Silchar,   

    Highest Package - 9 lakhs

    Average Package - 4 lakhs.

In short, placement wise also IIEST Shibpur stands better than CSE at NIT Silchar.

Listing your options cleanly, 

CSE at NIT Durgapur, IIIT Kalyani, IIEST Shibpur.

ECE at NIT Durgapur, IIIT Kalyani, IIEST Shibpur.

Firstly choose CSE, as it has better opportunities and relatively a higher salary package. Now Keep aside IIIT Kalyani and chose between NIT Durgapur and IIEST Shibpur. Also, IIEST Shibpur has low NIRF 2019 Ranking but average package at NIT Durgapur is little high, though the highest package is far higher at IIEST Shibpur this year. 

At IIEST Shibpur, 

Highest Package - 39.12 Lakhs

Average Package - around 6 lakhs

And in NIT Durgapur, 

Highest Package - 29 lakhs

Average Package - 6.5 lakhs.

Yeah Soumi Sarkar, with 7378 rank in WBJEE, you had a decent chance to get admission in Jadavpur University. As it also depends on the category to which you belongs. But with 7378 rank, you had a decent chance to get admission in Jadavpur University. Best of luck.

If you belong to open category then I am sorry to say that you cannot get into iiest as atleast you need to have a rank of 30k and around to get in with the least preferred branch . But seeing your percentile it seems that your rank would be above 100k

Hi Sandip,

You will definitely get NITs, IIITs but may get IIEST as their cut off are low. In JOSAA we many times don't get branches we choose but in CSAB there are still chances because many seats are vacant in this round. Just carefully set your priorities in college and their branches which you want during counseling and you will get into one of these institutions.
