For admission in B. Tech. courses, the annual fee for Gen/OBC students is 135500 INR per year, which includes a refundable deposit of 9000 INR. If you will be staying in hostel, then you will also have to pay an advance of 22000 INR for hostel mess.

The total  course fees doesn't include the hostel charges and it even depends on from college to college or office.

The course fees is only meant for academics and not for hostels. And even mess charge is also separate.

It is not possible to compare between b.des and b.tech cse. Both are completely different fields. Actually it is your personal interest that what is you want to  be in future. Both have their own type of succesful phases and possibilities in their own way respectively.

So take the decision as per your own choice.

The eligibility criteria for B.Des Course in IIT Bombay are:

1. You should have passed in your 12th grade examination which considered as the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ)

2. Should have qualified UCEED Examination, which is nothing but to obtain a rank in UCEED

So there is no such thing as minimum marks for IIT Bomay for B.Des course.

Although there is cutoff (minimum marks)mentioned for each of the categories:

1. Common rank list: 100 marks

2. OBC-NCL: 90 marks

3. Rest other categories: 50 marks

So the minimum marks would be 100 marks for the general category.

The campus at IIT Bombay is huge and got modern labs and classrooms. Libraries are full of books and online stuff, high speed internet everywhere. Labs have good equipments for research in computer science. Its nice but sometimes crowded. Hostel rooms are okay, not fancy but clean. Overall, infrastructure help a lot in PhD work.
