Dear Aspirant

At first lots of congratulations for your results .
I .According to trends of previous years and this year's JEE MAIN cut off I am afraid to inform you that your chances of getting admission into colleges NITs and IIITs are almost negative. However You can try in state level counselling and private colleges .One thing is important that admission in SC category entirey depends upon that particular category rank , not the All India rank.
you can check previous years cut off

Best Wishes.

Hi Aspirant!

There is no big difference in Information Technology And Computer Science and Technology, just there is one change in book in third year of your B.Tech otherwise the whole course is same.

As you are getting Information Technology in IIIT Allahabad it is so good for you because you get to learn about Computers technology more from your first semester which is not in the case of CSE.

Hence to sum up I recommend you to surely pursue IT in IIIT Allahabad and do not worry about CSE or IT as there is no big difference .

Happy Hustling!

Hello,
As per last years cutoff you have less chances of getting IIITs with this rank.
You should try for private institutes, as there are many well reputed private colleges in India. You can also use the college predictor tool to know about all possible colleges you might get based on your rank.

Your category is very low and at this rank it is very difficult to get seat in any nit.

But here I listed some colleges where you can get seat with this branch only if you have state quota for them:-

  • NIT Agartala
  • NIT Puducherry
  • NIT Srinagar
  • NIT Sikkim

Hello aspirant,

For the rank you had mentioned and taking your category into consideration, it is very difficult to get any of the seats in any Nit/IIIT.Since your rank rank is far away from the cutoff's it is not possible to get. However you can try for state councelling. There are many other private colleges which intake students based on their jee score.

You can check your chances for getting seat on the following link,

Hope this helps

Good luck

Dear aspirant
Your rank is always taken into the consideration not your percentile. According to the last year's cut off it was above 85 percentile. Getting into IIITs  is next to impossible but you may slightest chance in your home state government colleges.

Hi aspirant,

You asked for the comparison between smart manufacturing in IITDM & ece in iit kottyam.

Look, ECE is one of the top branches in engineering. But, on the other hand, smart manufacturing is not good at all. So, you should go for ece.

IIT Kottyam has good placement. NISSAN ,L&T, Reliance(JIO) and many more good companies come for campusing.

Good companies like NISSAN offered package starting from 6 to 10 lpa. Which is brilliant when seeing the first placement year of the Institute. Whereas other new iiits did not see this type of offers in  first year. So comparing the current scenario one can expect that the placement to be as well as old nits in coming 2–3 years. It is a well deserving institute for candidates securing rank between 5k to 15k.

So, it's better option for you.

Hello Jagan,

Well Your Question Depends on Your Area of Interest as

  • If you have enormous interest in Mechanical Engineering then go for it in IIIT Kanchepuram since it is a decent/average college, but fees could be an issue too!
  • But if you have not decided your final area of interest and needs to explore the surely you should go for other colleges or NITs as it will give you a better platform to explore and excel.

Hope it Helps,

All the best, and feel free to ask any further query...

Hey there!

Firstly, I'd to congratulate you for the choices you are getting. Now, coming to your question I'd side with IIIT Jabalpur for multitude of reasons, placements, infrastructure and internships. But I'll draw a comparison so that you can make the better choice according to your liking.

1. ECE at IIIT Jabalpur

Placements are about 95%

Highest salary- 35lpa

Average salary of 7-8 lpa

Great infrastructure with knowledgeable faculty

2. ECE at NIT Patna

Placements are about 90%

About 80% students got internships

Average package of 8-9 lpa

Companies like asus, samsung, one plus join the recruitment process

for iiit jabalpur .

About 80% of the students get placed The highest salary package offered was 17 LPA, while the average salary package offered was around 8 LPA

though highest package offered is from iiit kanchepuram..

you should choose jabalpur as security is higher there and you can apply for highest from any where (off campus)
