"In person round" means they will call you for counselling and you need to go with your parents, DD and they will make you stand in line according to the rank you secured and they will start giving the seats as per preference and availability of the seats and when your your turn comes you can decide which one you are going to take as per the availability. Availability is also displayed on the screen you can select the seat.

No these colleges do not gives EWS reservation.

Your 10+2 boards marks is really impressive. But with 73 percentile in JEE mains, you cannot take admission in any good colleges through JoSAA counselling. To predict your college, you can use https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor
Dropping a year should be your last option with the least priority. Before that try your best to crack other exams and take admission in other colleges. If your only wish is to go to thapar university, then you can drop this year and prepare for JEE main again as Thapar accepts only the marks of JEE main.

    Look every private college has atleast 10% seats under Management. But they can't tell you that in public or else many of colleges also mentioned in their website. However, you should contact the college authority for details. Only they can help about the management quota in details. But one thing, donation may be high. Thapar is one of the top private colleges, so demand is on high.

Thapar Institute Pros-

  1. The infrastructure is really good. We get Wifi at around 4Mbps, Sports facilities are good, and the accomodation is really good.
  2. There are a lot of a research opportunitites that you can pursue without a lot of questions.
  3. The college is only 5 days a week
  4. Patiala is a nice city. It has all the basic amenities but is not fancy as fuck.
  5. A lot of cultural events and socities you can be a part of.
  6. The campus is really good.
  7. The placements are really good. The highest package was 28.5 Lpa.

Overall company is the best campus till now I’ve ever seen

College Infrastructure

Thapar has the most wonderful campus. Such a beauty to live within.It has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities starting from labs and classrooms to sports area and a market for daily essentials. We have a good working wifi that us available 24/7.Cleaning staff makes sure the campus looks well eveytime.

Overall good experience. Loved my time spent there.

College Infrastructure

The institute offers classrooms equipped with projectors, providing a conducive learning environment. Laboratories are well-furnished and equipped with functional equipment, particularly in departments like school of chemistry and biochemistry.

The infrastructure of college is great. The library is amazing it is designed in such a way that it helps the students to learn more. The canteens are awesome. The labs and classrooms are also good. Great.
