Last year cutoff for CSE was around 32k for outside Punjab students on 4 year BTech course.so you have a very low chance.you should appear in April month exam.

It's very tough that your son gets admission in Thapar university in CSE branch.  Last year it was around 127 marks for the 3rd round.  This year it's expected to be around the same only.

The starting date of the Tiet is in mid March. You can alsi check it from the Tiet admission page. No,  it is not mandatory to apply for iit jee advance exam. But you have to appear in the jee mains exam.
