Established in the year 1952, Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology was founded by Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust. In the year 1966, the institute was handed over to the Government of Tamil Nadu after which AGCET has been administered by the Government through the Directorate of Technical Education. Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology is affiliated to Anna University.
