The placement records of Army Institute of Technology,  Pune is very good. Around 80 - 85 % students get placed every year from this institute.

Talking about the placements of 2018-19, then 245 students out of 272 were placed with a placement percentage of 90%. From Mechanical Engineering, 43 students were placed with a placement percentage of 77% and from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, 122 students were placed with a placement percentage of 88% in the open campus drive. The highest package offered was INR 39 Lakhs per annum with a Median package of INR 7.15 Lakhs per annum.

Talking about placements of 2017-18, total 262 candidates were placed out of 283 with a placement percentage of 93%. The highest package offered was INR 39 Lakhs per annum with a median package of INR 5 Lakhs per annum. The cutoff changes every year as it depends on various factors. For Electronics and Communication engineering, information technology programme the cutoff ranges over 1 lakh. That means a candidate with rank over 1 lakh can get admission to this college. For computer science and mechanical one need to keep a rank within 50000 to 60000.

In 2019 a candidate with rank 1,13,592( last rank) secured a seat in Army Institute of Technology, Pune.Every year more than 4000 applicants apply for this college against 300 seat so you can understand how tough competition it is.If you score around 150-180 or if your rank is below one lakh you may get seat in this college.Cut off changes every year so you need to score well and try to get rank around 50,000.

The admission is done solely on the basis of the All India Merit List made by AIT after JEE Mains results. So, you need to focus on your marks scored in JEE Mains.

By scoring 70 marks in jee your all India rank will be somewhere between 60000 to 250000 .
At this rank the probability of admission in AIT Pune is there but since the college offers only limited number of B.Tech courses the chance again becomes very tight.
Therefore you should try to achieve about 100-120 marks which can ensure your admission

It depends on what branch you select. The cutoff changes every year as it depends on various factors. Lets say for computer science & engineering branch, rank under 40000, can bring you the seat. It is the most preferred branch. And for Electronics branch, rank under 1 lakh and for mechanical- rank within 80000 will be enough.
