Hi Nishu!
Greetings!
Actually, now it only depends upon your interest. If you like computers and want to work in an it company in future and can compensate with your bitsian tag then go for ait without any second thought, but if you want to be bitsian and do not have any wish to work in a it company doing coding or other, then you can join bits pilani and can live your best college life in a reputed college.
But I will suggest you to go for AIT pune and join ece, it will make your future safe as ece have many job opportunities and you can do masters from their later if you wish with ece branch in hand. But if you are not agree with me then as your wish.
But I can give you information about manufacturing in BITS pilani.
Manufacturing Engineering has two main focus areas - manufacturing operations and manufacturing processes.
Manufacturing operations deal with simple inventory models, process ordering and forecasting like topics which may be covered in Manufacturing Management course and Optimization and Operations Research like courses which were a part of the old course structure, but now may be covered under other courses. Then there is management level focus in topics like Flexible Manufacturing Systems and Lean Manufacturing which are as of now offered as electives the former being along with MBA students.
The Manufacturing Processes deal with elementary design and theoretical understanding of core industrial processes which you would imagine to be of the time of Industrial Revolution. Things have surely come a long way since then but sure basics are there as it is. The newer techniques are given only introductory focus and only a 'reading' of what they are, is done. There is also a course on Mechatronics systems which gives good knowledge and feel of present systems, but again is slightly the informative kind.
Placements for automotive and production line type jobs is more or less treated both mechanical and manufacturing students alike, though I will refrain to say more . Another aspect is that you being a BITSian by no means will be restricted to be the Engineer your program (branch) makes you. You are free to stretch to cover Mechanical subjects and come at par; chuck the idea of core and jump to consultancy, finance or coding based job if you please and feel your interests to be otherwise.
WARNING : A VERY VERY PERSONAL OPINION
Course contents particularly w.r.t the old curriculum have not been the analytical kind, more the like of informative and knowledge based. That is something, well, a lot of people realize that in core Engineering that tends to be the case - lesser chances of problem solving, if at all, not illuminated in coursework. My discomfort with Manufacturing Engineering would be attributed to this. I have a million more reasons to curse it for I know how and where it could have been better (analytical, real -life problem solving like etc.) - well everyone sees a scope for improvement. But as they say - "Har kisi ko mukammal jahan nahi milta" (not everyone is blessed with a complete/ perfect world).
So I won't portray a rosy picture, i'll be blunt. I can't promise happiness, but I can promise opportunity and freedom like none other.
Please upvote if this was helpful to you.
Thank you and good luck.
Hello Pragati,
Since Army Institute of Technology, Pune takes admission only through JEE Main scorer/rank, so one has to first qualify the JEE Main exam as per his/her category. Below I have provided 2019 JEE Main cutoff (percentile) category wise -
So if you have cleared the cutoff as per your category, then you are JEE Main qualified. Now to get admission in AIT, you have to go through JoSAA counselling process. In the counselling you will get to know which colleges and branches are you getting as per your percentile and category. But I can't gaurantee that you will surely get a seat in AIT. Better you attend the counselling and see what do you get. You can go through this link and checkout the details regarding JoSAA counselling : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-counselling
If you are not getting a seat through JoSAA, then apply for CSAB counselling through which you can get a seat in NITs,IIITs,GFTIs,SFTIs. CSAB counselling will begin after the completion of JoSAA. You can visit this link and check all the details about CSAB counselling : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/csab
Hope that you get your choice of college. Good Luck !!!!
Hello aspirant,
In comparison with the good placement, the sjbit college has good placement with the average package of 5.03 lakhs per annum. And at AIT college the average package is around 5 lakhs per annum. So it is obvious that the sjbit has good placement.

Hi Aspirant!
The percentile may not fetch you a seat in Army Institute of Technology, Pune as you may miss marginally. The last year cut off indicates that 86 to 90 percentile would help to find a seat in a round. But don't lose hope there can be a seat in MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune. Use this amazing tool to get a decent college and branch in a certain counselling round - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor
Yes AIT do accepts jee main score for giving admissions in BTech courses. As you didn't mentioned any specific category I am assuming his category as general. This percentile is more than enough to get admission in the college. He can get top core branches like CSE, ECE, EEE etc.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
The infrastructure of this college is very good, and they teach on projects. Their Wi-Fi is also good, with an average speed above 70 MB/s. They have a very disciplined library, as you can study from 8 to 10 PM to build your future. Mess food has many varieties and is very hygienic. In sports, it is very good, and some of the students also reached the national level.
College provides hostel facilities for all FY students. The number of seats for SY, TY, and FY is very limited and is given according to merit. The quality of food is quite good and both veg and non-veg are available. AIT also provides sports facilities like football, tennis, cricket, basketball, squash, badminton, and many more
The infrastructure of the college is not so good. It is very small, even smaller than some of the schools. The library has a variety of books and has a reading hall capacity of 150 students. The labs are equipped with the necessary instruments for the experiments. The hostel facility is average, and students are provided with a mattress, bedside table, shoe track, and almirah
