Poor infrastructure and outdated equipments. Buildings are very old. Toilets and washrooms are very old and very unhygienic. When complained to staffs, no staff listens. Staffs frequently threatens me to leave the college over minor problems I face.
Explanations done only in Tamil. I told the teacher to explain some parts in hindi/english but the teacher refuse. My family is very poor so no other college option, this college is cheapest. I spend my 4 years learning through internet and youtube.
Placement instructions also explained only in Tamil so I don't understand anything. I get interview and interviewer says that there were complaints about this college from non-Tamil people before me. Non-Tamil senior from Bengalore also not recommend this college
College and hostel expense is less but also, treatment and cleanliness is very very less.
Graduated from this college (B.Tech). Very bad for non-Tamil people. Explanations done only in Tamil and do not want to change even when complained. Racism towards non-Tamil people in both college and hostel by staffs, clerks and wardens; so, no use of complaining about racism. I spent every days of my hostel and college life under racism especially hostel. Abuse of power by wardens and staffs especially in hostel. Not recommended for non-Tamil people.
College infrastructure is good enough but Classrooms are not so well.... Then the Hostel facilities are better than any other government Colleges,The Lab facilities are well that containing all the equipments... The Library is the best place in our college that contains all the Book stuff to improve your knowledge...
I am studying Electronics and communication Engineering at GCE TLY. I really like to speak with electronics through programming so I choose this sector.... ECE also has a wide scope in all tech fields...The Teaching method and quality is good but not so well....
College helps Outstanding students to achieve placements at incoming companies.... but there are so few companies which attend placements in our college...so it's quite difficult to all students to achieve placements...but our college Supports students to find a job...
This College isn't train you but it helps to train you by yourself...??
Classrooms and labs are good. Library is more than enough. Sports is given equal importance as studies is considered. There are bank, ATM, canteen. Admin block has a co-operative store and a xerox shop. Hostels are okay to accommodate and the hostel food is moderate. Everything, a student basically needs, can be accessed within the campus. If you expect luxury, then this college will not be the right choice.
Syllabus is followed as per Anna University regulations. The college offers five undergraduate (Civil, Computer science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical) and five postgraduate (Communication systems, Computer science, Engineering design, Power electronics & drives, Structural engineering) programs in engineering. There is no spoon-feeding. One has to take care of his/her studies. Really, professors never care about your grades.
I have no idea about on-campus placements. I heard some were placed off-campus with a decent package. Both core and IT companies are visiting the campus. But the chances of getting hired by a core company is still low. If you are good in programming concepts, you may be hired by IT companies. A quality improvement cell is deployed in the campus to make sure every student gets their opportunity to improve their skills.
We, everyone here, spend not more than Rs. 15K per year. This college is highly valuable for the money.
Ragging is strictly prohibited inside campus. Besides, seniors never encourage ragging. Junior-Senior relationship is good. The campus is completely safe for girls to board.
I have never regretted choosing this college. But, in my opinion, what this college lacks most is the communication skills of students. Hope this issue will be taken care.
Classrooms are spacious...library is well maintained...lab facilities are good...if you expect a luxurious hostel then GCE is not the right place... because the hostel facilities are average...but it is completely safe for girls to board...
Professors are highly qualified and experienced... they are available at all the time for you to clear you doubts... The syllabus is as followed by AU...but its ur responsibility to develop your skills...
In current situation, placement is not so well...campus placements are poor... but you can develop all your skills so that you can be paced off campus... if you wanted to be placed inside the campus then GCE is not the ryt option
Its highly valuable for the money you pay...
Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus...seniors show immense care...
GCE=heaven... u will njoy a lot and learn a lot...
