We have a well-equipped library with a moderate collection of books, periodicals, and journals. Internet facilities are also available. A book bank section is also functioning under a separate government fund for the benefit of SC/ST students alone. The library has more than 60,000 books. It is fully automated and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available to students and staff. The library will remain open from 9 AM to 4 PM on all working days. Circulation Status: Approximately 40 to 50 thousand books are being borrowed by the readers annually. A more or less similar number of books is referred or consulted by the readers in the Library. The state-of-the-art language laboratory at Government Polytechnic College Attingal blends time-tested methodologies with interactive technology to deliver a comprehensive teaching-learning experience. The language laboratory, equipped with computer systems, headsets with mic and latest IT-enabled tools enables the learner to master the English language with ease. Physical fitness is an important component of leading a healthy lifestyle. The inclusion of regular fitness activity helps students maintain fitness, develop muscular strength and improve cardiovascular health. A regular fitness activity improves the absorption of nutrients by the body, improves digestive processes and increases physiological processes. Participation in physical education in high school provides a positive influence on a student’s personality, character, and self-esteem. Involvement in sports, recreational activities or other forms of physical fitness offers a method of stress relief.

The Department caters to the physical and recreational needs of students; coaching is offered Volleyball, Football, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Cricket, and Athletics. The Department boasts of facilities like Fitness Centre for both the staff and the students of the college.

The college has a large hostel with all the facilities. The girl’s hostel can accommodate about 140 students. The hostel rooms are well furnished for a comfortable stay. More emphasis is laid on hygiene and cleanliness for healthy living. Mess facilities are also available for which separate monthly payments will be accrued from the students on a dividing basis. The mess provides nutritious vegetarian food to the students and the menu keeps changing according to the tastes of the students. The students are provided with basic amenities like a table, chair and a cupboard in their respective rooms. Waiting Hall This space is mainly for the day scholar students and other outsiders to wait. A separate visitor’s room for parents is also available.

College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College. The students are provided with meals by assuring food safety and quality. The students who come from faraway places, start their journey to the College early in the morning. For them, the mid-day meal is provided. Even many day-scholars use canteen facilities for their breakfast and evening tea with snacks.
