Government Polytechnic, Warangal is one of the oldest technical educational institutions established in the year 1956, Situated at Warangal, Telangana state. This affiliated college recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been incubating talent technical for more than six decades. The institute is located in a small plots of 1.14 acres and has offered diploma programs for the 1,564 students population. Being an academy of 42 committed teachers, the ratio of students to teachers is also very low in Government Polytechnic, Warangal which guarantees best attention and best output. From a series of specialized courses offered, the institute has invested on technical education through offering 5 specialized courses in the engineering field.

These include the standard operation zones like Civil Engineer and Electrical & Electronics Engineer, and newly introduced areas like Computer Engineer and Electronics & Communications Engineer. There is also second shift availability for some courses to enable students make their choices. The annual approved intake for all courses is 1,564 But specific intakes have been provided for some courses including Civil Engineering – 60 & Electrical and Electronics Engineering- 60.
