B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2016-01-01
Academics
Teachers help us in many ways. They try to teach us and help us to solve our doubts if we have any personally. The course curriculum is very good and makes us follow the course and sync it with the industry routine. The semesters are difficult. The pass percentage is relatively, they also resolve our queries on weekly basis
College Infra
infrastructure is decent one andWe have a single room in the hostel and Wi-Fi for each lobby. We have a library and classroom access. The hostel facilities are quite good. We get full privacy. The food quality of the mess is manageable but not that good as we get the same food for a week and the all others are also good.
Placements
Around 80% of students got placed in our course. The highest package offered in our course is 16 LPA. The average package is around 7 LPA - 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Havells, Bajaj, Siemens, etc. Around 50-60% of students also got internships from college and rest of them get arrange from their own connection

B.Tech Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2026-01-01
Academics
Academics are actually good. Professors are well knowledgeable. They will guide you. Labs are outdated as most of the Engineering colleges in India. If you are targeting higher studies or Govt exam, you can join this college for sure in Core Departments. Otherwise for CSE, IT it's all about skills you know!
College Infra
It's one of the oldest colleges in West Bengal. It have old buildings as well as New Buildings. Hopefully the infrastructure will improve with proper funding. Labs are outdated. There are funding shortage as well as good will. So yes infrastructure is poor to average I would say.
Campus Life
Overall good. You will enjoy it. There are various clubs also, you can participate.
Placements
Placements vary every year. Like upto 2022 was golden period for KGEC (I would say). After that students have to struggle for placements. For core departments, there are companies but pakage is too low. So yes there are various issues regarding placements.
Value For Money
Fees structure is very low (except IT dept). You will get the college vibe especially if you are a hosteller. But there are some restrictions as open campus. Sometimes locals roam around in campus, so gates are closed after 8-9 pm. For boys it's still feasible but girls hostel closes after 6-7 pm... LoL . CCTV & guards are there but you know about girl's safety here ????!

Hello Dear Student,
With a GMR of 72,000 and an SC rank of 8,000, securing Civil Engineering at Jadavpur University or Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is highly unlikely, as their closing ranks for SC candidates typically range between 5,000 to 6,000. However, you have fair chances for core branches

Jelet rank 410general can getting admission in chemical engineering kgec
Hello
With a JELET rank of 410 in the General category, getting into Chemical Engineering at KGEC is quite difficult because their cutoffs are usually much lower. KGEC is one of the top government colleges, so seats fill quickly with higher-ranked students. You might still get chances in lower-demand branches
