The best in state and most expensive

Posted on 15 Sep' 16 by Nitin Prabhu

College life is really good. Enjoying a lot studying and other co-curricular activities happening in and out of the college and also, with young and experienced faculty. Who cares and understand students very well. The College is getting strict day by day as compared to previous few years but also gives freedom to students to express themselves. Not much big campus but big enough with great infrastructure.

Our college infrastructure wise is good with good facilities and friendly people around. Talking about placements there are good companies come up to recruit BE students from our college with their respective criteria for recruiting. And talking about they are good with friendly behaviour.

College is always said a place where you have one of your best times of life. And my college did fulfill it to a certain extent. Had a few amazing lecturers, fun events. Intercollegiate events etc. But the drawbacks being very few placements, no grounds , teacher through behind the students for attendance were the few among others.

College is overall good. Good vibes all it needs is infrastructure as in much-needed playground. Facilities wise it is good. It has everything be it labs, canteen etc. Parking space is something that needs to be sorted out. Faculty is good( intellectual, friendly and understanding ) College placement has been poor this year despite good results. College life is pretty good . All streams are in one building so there's ongoing activity. Our annual event mythia is something we all wait for and it is the fun week. Students vary from nerdy to all-rounders. Our college encourages sports.

Batch of Jan. 1, 2013 | BE Computer Science and Engineering
The college conducts 4 Year Degree programmes in the fields of Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ETC Engineering and Information Technology. The Engineers passing out from this Institution are envisaged to be of high standards, very proficient to occupy various positions in Industries. The management with the Director of Fr. Agnel Technical Complex, will strive hard to impart value based education and develop an integrated personality in Engineers and Technocrats passing out through its portals as it is done in other technical institutes in the complex. The college is affiliated to Goa University, Taleigao Goa, and all the programmes are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.Placements are good.

The college is named after Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues, a patriot and founder of Agnel Ashram, who died in 1984 after making a notable contribution in the field of Technical Education of the at national level. It is remembered that then Director of Technical Education of the State of Maharastra, Prof. G. Kadu in his oration at the funeral of Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues, called him a Saint of Technical Education. It offers four courses Mechanical,Etc,computer, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. The college was established in the year 1997 to meet the growing needs of technical man power of Goa as well as in other parts of the country. It is the only private engineering college in the State of Goa, being run on self financing concept.

Pcce is a good college with average teaching staff. There is poor placements in campus. Labs are well equipped but there is no proper WiFi available for students. It has an average infrastructure with well equipped library. Its is centrally located in the heart of Salcete Taluka of Goa.

The faculty of the college is not very interested in the students. College also suffers from a lack of strong leadership at the management level. Facilities are also quite meager. Placements are weak, with very low pay packages. Part of the placement problems are again due to lack of interest from the faculty. Facilities are also on the low end, with outdated machinery and tools.

College life: purely into acedemics, very little extra curricular activities. Subdued college events. Infrastructure: sufficient, very small campus, but well maintained. Faculty : used to be good in the past, but a lot of good lecturers have left, current faculty mostly highly inexperienced Placements: slightly better than average, although an improvement can be made

Very poor infrastructure and high fees

Posted on 22 Oct' 15 by Omkar Samant
Batch of Jan. 1, 2015 | BE Mechanical Engineering
College built to make money and build more colleges under the same management. For eg. Agnel Institute of tech and design, asagao. The college still uses transparency projectors which are obsolete about 8 years back. They keep catching fire during class. The whole "ENGINEERING" College has JUST 3 over head projectors. Sports ground is shared by the engineering college, agnel primary, secondary, HSS, Agnel Diploma college, agnel catering college, etc other institutions under the same management and also is rented out to football clubs to earn money thus making it unavailable to the students fr use.evn if it vacant smtims you need written permissions from the HOD and principal to use it even for half an hour. Fees are the highest among engineering colleges in Goa and keep increasing evry year and there is no advancement in infrastructure at all. All the money is pumped somewhere else to build more colleges and make money. It is really sad an institution headed by priests is working this way. Having passed out from a Jesuit school myself I can say with enough confidence that this isn't the way Jesuit institutions function.

College life is always awsome. But the teachers need to improve there teaching as all the students like the lecture only if teachers make it interesting. And the college is all theoretical. Need more practical stuff. Need to learn more practical work then doing boring theoretical. Faculty is just for guidance but most of them are just for name sake. I don't wanna disheartened any faculty they try there beat but they need to improve.

PCCE is one of the best engineering colleges in goa with some silly rules and too much of focus on academics but the end of it it's worth it as PCCE students excel with the best results in semesters. The infrastructure of PCCE is not that happening.Pcce Has wonderful faculty and they are quiet capable in delivering their information to the students.I had an amazing experience at pcce except the additional constraints on internal exams and attendance which is very stressful.

The college infrastructure is fairly good. The classrooms are airy. The faculty is very supportive and provide us with most of the study matter required. Safety is also ensured as there are cameras installed. Students can avail of the necessary facilities like library, computer labs, sports equipment, canteen etc. without any issues. Technical as well as cultural events are organised.

POSITIVE REVIEW PCCE has always been counted in the list of most renowned institutions. It has a small but a very good infrastructure. The entire campus is very clean and hygienic. Waste management is properly done. The faculty is very cooperative and always ready to help. They take lot of efforts to make the concepts clear to us and they also make sure that we perform well. They encourage us to organize technical events which boosts up our confidence level.Next, coming to the placements,we have a very enthusiastic training and placement officer. He takes lot of efforts to make sure that majority students get placed. Also he organizes numerous trainings and motivational talks for us. NEGATIVE REVIEW The first negative point that comes to my mind about PCCE is its enormously huge amount of fees.We are not provided with the amount of facilities that should be provided as per the fees we pay. There are no air conditioners in our labs. Most of the times internet access is poor.Certain applications on the computer systems do not function properly. Our canteen menu has been the same right from the day I entered college till date.Talking about industry exposure, till date we've had just one field trip to a software company.Lot of manipulation is done in our marks.

It is reasonably a good college. Location of the college is nice, we can easily get buses to reach.Infrastructure is good. The fun week is held each year where each department come together to show their unity and skills. College faculty are very strict about attendance. Placements and industrial exposure are not that great. Teaching is not so good, there is no motivation from teachers side.

Overall Experience at the college was good. The teaching staff is pretty good. But college lacks extra curricular activities and events. They charge huge fees of above 50k. Still the college life is boring. Also placements is not that good compared to other engineering colleges in Goa. Classrooms can also be better maintained and could be air conditioned. Also it lacks hostel facility.

Overall pretty good college, with the usual pros and cons

Batch of Jan. 1, 2014 | BE Computer Science and Engineering
The overall experience at PCCE was pretty great. Although we did complain about things like poor canteen or not so great placements in the final year, now looking back, things were not so bad. Student life is as great as you make it. That depends entirely on you and your friends. The college being in the middle of a highway, you need your own car if you want to get out. Or there is always the option of the local bus. Strong sense of unity among departments. Infrastructure wise, we had great classrooms and computer labs. Faculty were some of the best in Goa. They worked hard to make sure that the concepts are driven to the students. I think a lot of them have left the college now, so I'm not so sure about the faculty status now. But I'm sure they won't be too bad. In the end we did get our concepts of computer engineering straight and clear which is the main part. But the college is not very liberal in deviating from the syllabus when it comes to project work. They prefer when students stick to conventional old practices and technology. Hopefully if that changes, it will be a pretty nice place to study at.

Quality Education

Posted on 15 Oct' 15 by Olaf Fernandes
Batch of Jan. 1, 2014 | BE Computer Science and Engineering
In Goa, the name Padre Conceicao College of Engineering is synonymous with quality and is a well recognised institute for professional education. I have completed my B.E in Computer Engineering and graduated in 2014. Our classes were characterized with interactive sessions between the professor and students. With regards to the infrastructure, there are numerous air conditioned Computer labs having PC's loaded with the latest software so the students are not left out of the latest technological developments. All the classrooms were decent and well kept. The library has been well stocked with ample of books pertaining to the various subjects that are taught in the college. The only issue was with the canteen facilities. There were not much food options and the food quality was not at par with the standard of this college. All in all, it was a wonderful time at this college and we students really had a great time with all the jovial professors at this institute.
