Hello,
With a JEE Main rank of 83,472, getting into VIT Mumbai in CAP Round 2 under the OMS (All India) category is not possible. In recent years, the cutoff for branches like Computer Engineering in CAP Round 2 was around 4,500 to 5,000. Since your rank is much lower, chances are almost negligible.
Hope it helps !
In JEE Mains 2024, the closing rank for the Computer Engineering branch at VIT Mumbai for the General category (All India quota) was around 99,339. For the EWS category, the cut-off is usually a bit relaxed, so you might get in with a slightly higher rank. Exact EWS cut-off isn't officially mentioned, but if your rank is close to or below 1 lakh, you have a fair chance. Keep checking the official counselling updates for confirmation.

Dear candidate its great that you have profound interest towards computer science engineering course as your career option. When you consider MIT Alandi this college is extremely study centric, only students with good academics receive placements. Whereas VIT Mumbai is indeed a good choice, sophisticated infrastructure, top notch faculties, all the necessary facilities like wifi, labs, auditorium etc. The placements also offered by several IT companies with package of 4-5 LPA.

EXTC is one of the popular fields in Engineering and it has lot of scopes available in the industries.
Both the institutes you have mentioned are private colleges. TCET is an autonomous college under University of Mumbai, Mumbai where as VIDYALANKAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is a affiliated college under the same. So the curriculum for the institutes are the same.
Now from the ranking perspective, TCET is a better college than VIDYALANKAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. TCET have a better infrastructure and faculty strength. The college have very well maintained campus and as a result, you will get a better campus experience compared to that of the VIDYALANKAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.
For the session, 2020-21 the overall placement rates have dropped to some percentages. Although TCET have a better placement rate in average compared to that of the VIDYALANKAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. The placement rate for TCET is around 78% where as for VIDYALANKAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is around 66%.
So through overall analysis, I would recommend you to go for the TCET.

Hello student,
Congratulations for scoring such great percentile in MHTCET 2021. With this good percentile, you can easily get admission in Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai in the branches of CS/IT. Also, your chances increase due to your caste category OBC, as the percentile range for it will be low. However, the chances of getting it in first or second round itself is low. You will have to wait for the further rounds. You can also try for the institutional rounds of VIT.

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced
But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly
For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp

All the facilities are nice and friendly behavior in all department. College has a Wi-Fi facility and labs, a Chemistry lab, a Physics lab, an Engineering workshop, and an IT workshop. There are two libraries. The hostel is not good and the food quality in the hostel is the worst.
The infrastructure of Institute of Engineering and Technology is very cool and calm. The facilities available for our course we have the best labs with Wi-Fi facilities. Classrooms are clean and maintained. We have a big central library with a silent environment.
Good Wi-Fi connection in campus and canteen good and well-maintained labs. Library: well-stocked with books, journals, and e-resources and quite space for study. Hostel: good hostel, 24/7 security. Canteen: offers snacks, lunch, and other stuff. Food quality: good. Medical Facilities: available. Sports and games: outdoor like football, cricket, basketball; indoor like table tennis, chess, and separate gym in the college.
