UPES B.Tech Admissions 2026
ApplyRanked #43 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest Package 1.3 CR , 100% Placements
Hello aspirant,
In order to get admission in IIT Bombay, you have to clear the JEE mains examination first and then the JEE advance exam. You have to clear the required JEE mains Cutoff for the respective category in JEE mains to eligible in JEE advance. Then in JEE advance you have to clear the cutoff for getting admission in core branches in IIT bombay. The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Class Examination conducted by respective boards. For SC/ST students, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in this criterion.
Since you have not mentioned your category I am considering you as a General category student. Now, for general category student, in order to get decent branches like Aerospace, chemical, civil, mechanical, you have to score at least within 500-2000 rank in JEE advance. But for core branches like CSE you have to score within 100 rank in JEE advance.
further, to know more about the Cutoff required in JEE advance for IIT Bombay, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff-for-iit-bombay
I hope that this will help.
Hello Kanishk,
I hope you are fine now. As per your query, yes you can give exam at examination center in offline mode at your own risk. Just try to cover your leg with a ploythene and have that much space between legs and table so that it could not create any problem in the future. They will not stop you from giving the examination till the time you are before time. Try to reach well before time so that you could become familiar with your place and make arrangements accordingly.
All the best for your exam
Hey aspirant
There are total 200 seats for obc pwd in IITs. If pwd candidate get 30% of total mark then you can easily get a rank in pwd category within 150. With that rank you can get admission in IIT. But coming to iit bombay there are only less seats. So top rank among pwd category is needed to geg a seat for cse in iit bombay. with 100 mark your chances of getting admission for cse in IIT Bombay is less. Hello,
I would suggest don't go by NIRF because in NIRF rankings there are many other factors taken into consideration other than placements before deciding the ranking so i would suggest just go on your liking . If you like IIT Bombay then go for it and if you like DELHI then go for it.
As you are opting CSE branch there won't be any difference in opportunities because both these top level IITs so i would suggest that just search for both these colleges and choose the one which fascinates you.
Dear Aspirant,
Yes you can take admission in whatever IITs you want.
Where you get admission into depends on what you give as preferences and the availability of seats in the college.
If one has AIR 1 in JEE Advanced, then the person can get admission into any IITs of their interest.
IIT Bombay is the most preferred and that's why people get into the college for CSE.
Hope this helps.
Dear aspirant!
Hope you are doing well ! You ask something interesting and different question because for your kind information i would like to tell you that it's topper choice to take admission in any institute ,if you get air 1 then you can take any iit ,no one will force you to take iit Bombay . However it is seen that most of the air 1 holders took the cs in Bombay . Well, you can take cs in iit delhi too . It's your choice .

The campus at IIT Bombay is huge and got modern labs and classrooms. Libraries are full of books and online stuff, high speed internet everywhere. Labs have good equipments for research in computer science. Its nice but sometimes crowded. Hostel rooms are okay, not fancy but clean. Overall, infrastructure help a lot in PhD work.
IIT Bombay offers a spacious campus with modern classrooms and advanced labs and the libraries were equipped however the workload can be intense and the campus can feel crowded during peak hours overall it supports academic excellence with a few challenges
My college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments from both academics and sports activities. It has Hostels for all the students from btech, mtech to phds so we don't have to look for the Pg outside the college.
