IIIT Delhi Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi features hostels for both girls and boys. IIIT Delhi also has 22 married accommodations for Ph.D students. At present, the institute has four hostels in total, two for girls, and two for boys. IIIT Delhi boys’ hostels has adequate number of beds.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi has two hostels for girls. IIIT Delhi girls’ hostels have a capacity of 404 and 394 beds. Both boys’ and girls’ hostels have single as well as double occupancy rooms. All IIIT Delhi hostels offer night time airconditioning in summers and heating in winters. Internet connectivity is also provided in IIIT Delhi hostels.

IIIT Delhi provides 24/7 medical facility for all students, faculty members, staff. Qualified doctors, nurses, and gynaecologists are a part of the IIIT Delhi health centre at different days of the week. They are also available in case of emergencies. IIIT Delhi infirmary is located at the ground floor of the girls’ hostel.

IIIT Delhi’s state-of-the-art gym offers amenities like cross-trainer, abdominal machines, treadmills, recumbent bike, and dumbbells. You can also avail the services of a gym trainer during morning sessions.

The IIIT Delhi Library and Information Centre is a multi-storeyed facility with a study centre for students on the ground floor. The full-fledged library, which contains thousands of books, journals, and periodicals, is housed on the second level. The building’s upper floors contain various labs for students.

The list of IIIT Delhi facilities also includes several outdoor and indoor sports facilities. IIIT Delhi’s new sports complex is equipped with Table Tennis tables, a Badminton court, Squash courts, Pool tables, Swimming pool and much more. Additionally, carrom boards and chess boards are available in the common hostel rooms. IIIT Delhi also houses a multi-purpose sports field, which features two tennis courts, a basketball court, a football ground, a volleyball field, along with adequate lighting facilities. Lastly, coach facilities are also offered to students.

IIIT-D has truly world class, campus-wide state of the art information technology tools that are designed to meet the computing and communication needs of the institute. IIIT Delhi IT infrastructure comprises a fast, reliable and rugged computer network of more than 4000 Nodes. The institute has aptops issued to its faculty, staff and students. To provide printing and other facilities, IIIT Delhi has more than 150 printers and scanners. In order to facilitate proper teaching aid, all classrooms here are equipped with projectors and audio systems. All the hostels, faculty blocks, administrative block, library, classrooms and residences, are connected through a redundant 10-gigabit fibre backbone network. All the blocks are connected through layer 2 & 3 switches to provide 1Gbps connectivity at the user end. Wireless network with around 200+ access points is also enabled in the faculty block, library, classrooms and hostel blocks.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. IIIT Delhi also has a mess situated in the Dining and Recreational Centre for the students living in hostels. IIIT Delhi mess provides decent meals to students at reasonable charges.

IIIT, Delhi has a dedicated auditorium, which can seat up to 500 people. There are 25 lecture halls present on IIIT Delhi campus of varying sizes for conducting academic and cultural activities.

IIIT Delhi has a well-established and active alumni association, connecting IIIT Delhi alumni who are currently spread across the world. Known as AlmaConnect, IIIT Delhi alumni network provides a good opportunity for the graduates to stay connected with each other as well as the current students to connect to their seniors to gain various insights.

The college has Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff. High speed internet facilities are also available in all of IIIT Delhi hostels to help students complete their work with ease. Every hostel room has a dedicated LAN connection to provide round the clock access to resources on the net.  

The IIIT Delhi campus has a stationery and photocopy shop to cater to the stationery requirements of students. IIIT Delhi also has an HDFC ATM on the ground floor of the Dining Block.
