Hello,

Congratulations on getting a good rank. As I see you have shortlisted pretty good options for you and they all look very promising and career oriented.

I would suggest you to take your preference in this order:

  1. NIT Kurukshetra
  2. NIT Surat
  3. NIT Andhra Pradesh
  4. IIIT Kancheepuram
  5. University of Hyderabad

I have given this order based on:

  • NIRF Rankings of colleges
  • Infrastructure
  • Location and accessibility
  • Placement Scenarios/Opportunities

But I would also like you to consider which branch you would like to pursue as a career because Mechanical and ECE/CSE are very different domains, you can always learn parts of both in college but your core branch is what will shape your career after 4 years.

Good luck, Hope it helps!!

Hello Aspirant! With this rank, based on previous year cutoff, your chances are low but as you're from ST category you may get a lower in the last rounds. The previous year cutoffs are as follows:
For CSE: 202 marks
For ECE: 195 marks
So based on this you may not get a seat in IIIT Bangalore but you may definitely try in some other colleges. You can also use this link to predict your college:
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

No, I believe With a Percentile of 98.6 in JEE Main, you'll not be able to secure a seat in IIIT Bangalore in either Integrated MTech in CSE or ECE. The Cutoff for 2020 for Integrated MTech CSE was 7.3k Rank, whereas for MTech ECE was 9k. With a Percentile of 98.6, your Rank will be anywhere between 14-17k.

Hello aspirant

hope you are doing well and safe. As per your query , I would glad to inform you that at your rank you holds very low chances of getting admission in  any nits in any streams . I would advise you instead of wasting time start preparing for next attempt and score atleast below 10000 rank to score better . Following is the link of cut off for reference:-

Hello Aspirant,

See if go through last year's cut-offs as declared by JOSAA for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs then it clearly shows that for NITs the closing OBC rank was around 13k-15k , for IIITs it was around 15k-16k and for GFTIs it was around 20k-21k.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the official website of JOSAA as given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So on such rank and category you have no chance to get any of the NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, so I would recommend you to either go for private colleges or you can prepare for further attempts of JEE-Main and to help you in your preparation we have some resources which you can access from the link given below :-

https://learn.careers360.com/jee-main-coaching/?utm_source=%20QnA

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have secured 97.8 percentile and tkaing into consideration that you belong to general category candidate so let me tell you that your predicted rank would be somewhat around 23-24k and in this rank mnit jaipur is not possible.

And definitely in terms of placements mnit jaipur is far better than iiit vadodara so I would recommend you to go for mnit jaipur with ece or something.

Hello Student..

Metallurgical Engineering at NIT Rourkela may be a suitable choice if you are not interested in CSE. In addition to Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering is one of the most student-friendly branches with a well-structured curriculum.

The course is designed in such a way that you have adequate time to learn new skills and master new technologies while still staying on track with the curriculum. Second, as one of the older technical institutes, NIT Rourkela offers a vibrant campus life and culture, as well as superb infrastructure, faculty, and research facilities. Regular recruiters include GE Aviation, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Jindal Stainless, Reliance, and Hindalco.

ROUKELA NIT Being close to mineral-rich regions of Odisha and Jharkhand adds to the training and placement opportunities. If you are serious about CSE, though, you should choose IIIT Sricity above NIT Rourkela.
