Hello Aspirant,

See if the rank mentioned by you is your OBC NCL rank then you have no chance in any of the NITs/IIITs because for any of the NITs/IIITs you should have your JEE-Main OBC rank at least 15k-16k, but if it is your CRL rank then your OBC rank would be somewhere around 18k-20k, so on such rank you can go for some of the GFTIs.

If we go through previous year's data of seat allotment On the basis of data mentioned in the question by you, you can go for the enlisted colleges :-

National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology, Hatia, Ranchi - Mechanical Engineering (18802)

Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi - Carpet and Textile Technology (21301)

Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar - Electronics and Communication Engineering (20389)

And some more. You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the official website of JOSAA as given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above list is merely a prediction which has been made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of either JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India on the basis of your JEE-Main 2021 result :-

You can also check out the JEE-Main 2021 cut-off and know whether you have qualified for JEE-Advance 2021 or not, so it is given below :-

==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck for your future!!

Hello aspirant

Hope you are doing great there . The things one should keep in mind while choosing the college and branch depends on various factors like placements , campus life , interest in that particular branch etc . Let me compare the above two for you . When we talk about IIIT , fees is definitely above than that of NIT . Otherwise both the NIT and IIIT are the prime preference of all the students . Now coming to branch . CSE is considered as the top branch when it comes to engineering , it has a great market in the private sector , while ECE has jobs in both private as well as government sectors . In most of the campus placements , the company allows both cse and ece students to appear for the interview .

I hope my answer helps

Wish you all the very best !

Hi

Your profile suggests that your home state is AP

This is quite difficult to predict but when we go through previous year trend then

>>>>> with 32k obc rank

With above  rank, you have very low  chances in NITs , IIITs.

For example,

NITS

Closing rank for some of the lower NITs for OBC  category under other state is provided below in 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 :-

  • NIT Mizoram ,civil engineering :- 14730 obc rank

  • Nit nagaland :- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) :-  15340 obc rank

  • National Institute of Technology AgartalaProduction Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology :- 15659  obc rank

  • National Institute of Technology, Surat:-Chemistry (5 Years, Integrated Master of Science):-16453 obc rank

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in NIT you should get at least around 15000 - 16000 OBC rank

IIITs

You have low chance in IIITs

For example

When we go through previous year trend then ,

Closing rank for some of the IIITs for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for obc category  :-

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, Information Technology:- 14417 obc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Dharwad, Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 15280 obc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur, Mechatronics Engineering:- 16682  obc rank

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in IIITs you should have at least around 15,000 - 16,000 OBC rank

You have chances in government engineering colleges. Some of the  government engineering colleges in which you hold a chance are listed below along with their previous year cut off link :-

-------) IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar:- https://www.careers360.com/university/ik-gujral-punjab-technical-university-jalandhar/cut-off

-------) Jabalpur Engineering College, Jabalpur:-

https://www.careers360.com/colleges/jabalpur-engineering-college-jabalpur/cut-off

------) Tezpur University, Tezpur:- https://www.careers360.com/university/tezpur-university-tezpur/cut-off

This has been predicted on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc

Thankyou

Dear Student,

You can't get any of the NIT, IIIT, GFTI or IET Lucknow with this rank because it is too much. Your rank should be under 50K so that you can expect some GFTI or the sate government college.

So it will be more good if you participate in the UPSEE counselling of Uttar pradesh and try to grab some good private colleges with this rank like-

  • AKGEC Ghaziabad
  • ABES Ghaziabad
  • KIET Ghaziabad
  • JSS Noida
  • Galgotias Greater Noida
  • GL Bajaj Greater Noida

You can use this college predictor link so that you can find some good colleges according to your rank.

Good Luck :)

Hello,

Yes, obviously you can join IIT or NIT if you are eligible. See The attempt starts from the year candidate is appearing for class 12. The point is that if the candidate will drop a year or two for the preparation of the exam, they will lose their number of attempts. Candidates should not waste the chance and should appear for the exam.

Work hard and go for it .

Best of luck.

Thank you.

1. Thapar University

2  Jaypee University

You might get DTU for some branches.

Hey Aspirant  ,

I want to tell you that at 20000 rank the chances of getting into nit , iiit or any other government college is quiet low . You might some lower nits or iiits with lower branches but that's also not sure. So what I would suggest that you should go for private colleges like

1 . VIT Vellore

2. SRM Chennai

3. Jaypee University Noida

4. Thapar University

5. Manipal Institute of technology

These colleges are also a good option for you and you might get CSE also.

For further reference I am providing you with a link to predict a college through JEE Mains

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

I hope this helps!!

Dear Student,

CSAB round is for the vacant seats which are left after JOSAA counselling and if you need some branch in NIT's then your rank must be under 50K so that you can get some of the branch in CSAB round.

remember that seats in only lower branches are left and if you need colleges like NIT trichy, Warangal, Allahabad, Surathkal, etc. then your rank must be under 25K otherwise you will get NIT like  Agartala, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sri nagar, etc.

92K rank is too much for any JEE counselling and you can't get any seat with this rank through CSAB counselling.

You can find some good colleges according to rank with this link.
