  1. Newer NITs : Some newer NITs might consider candidates with lower ranks.

  2. GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) : Government-funded technical institutes could be an option.

  3. Private Engineering Colleges : Private institutions are more likely to offer admission.

Make sure to participate in all counseling rounds and explore all possible options during the admission process.

    • Shiv Nadar University
    • Amity University
    • Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT)

Hello Shaurya,

With a rank of 15,036 in JEE Main Paper 2 and an EWS certificate, gaining admission to IIIT Delhi is challenging. IIIT Delhi has a high cutoff for both JEE Main Paper 2 and Paper 1, and the cutoff ranks for admission are generally lower. Additionally, IIIT Delhi has a significant number of seats reserved for Delhi domicile students, which could further impact your chances if you’re from outside Delhi.

Given your rank and the competitive nature of IIIT Delhi, you might not secure admission there this year. It’s advisable to explore other institutes or branches that align with your rank, or consider future counseling rounds and alternate options.

Hello Aspirant

There is no minimum Percentage required for JEE mains registration and appearing for the exam. However, for applying to IITs, NITs, and IIITs, you need a minimum percentage of 75% for the general category and 65% for the SC/ST categories. Since you have 59%, you are not eligible to get into IIITs.

However, GFITs do not have such criteria for admission, they do not consider 12th Board percentages so you can consider applying to them because they only look into your JEE score.

Hope this helps

Hello Aspirant

No, with a B.Voc Software Development degree, you wouldn't be directly eligible for an M.Tech program in colleges like DTU, NIT, NSUT, IIIT, or DU (assuming they follow the standard eligibility criteria) even if you clear GATE.

Here's why:

  • M.Tech Eligibility: Most M.Tech programs require a four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech) or a related field like Computer Science (B.Sc. CS).
  • B.Voc vs. B.Tech: While a B.Voc degree is valuable, it's typically considered on par with a diploma or an advanced B.Sc. degree in terms of academic rigor.

However, there are still options for you to pursue postgraduate studies in software development:

  1. M.Sc. in Computer Science: You could explore universities offering M.Sc. programs in Computer Science, which may be more open to B.Voc graduates.
  2. M.Tech through GATE (Lateral Entry): Some institutes offer M.Tech programs through GATE with lateral entry for students with a diploma or equivalent qualifications. You'd need to check with individual institutes for their specific eligibility criteria.
  3. PG Diploma in Software Development: You could consider pursuing a PG Diploma in Software Development to enhance your skills and potentially boost your profile for future opportunities.

Hello student,

With a JEE Mains rank of 51,600, you have a chance of getting into some NITs and IIITs, although you may need to opt for lower-demand branches or newer campuses. Here are some possibilities:

NITs:

  1. NIT Meghalaya - Possible Branches: Civil, Mechanical.

  2. NIT Mizoram - Possible Branches: Electrical, Civil.

  3. NIT Agartala - Possible Branches: Production Engineering, Biotechnology.

    IIITs:

  4. IIIT Pune - Possible Branches: Electronics and Communication Engineering.

  5. IIIT Bhagalpur - Possible Branches: Computer Science, Electronics.

  6. IIIT Una - Possible Branches: Information Technology.

    Other Options:
  • Newer NITs like NIT Sikkim or NIT Nagaland might offer seats in branches like Electrical or Mechanical.

  • State Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Mains scores could also be a good backup option.
