Tuition Fees for SC/ST are totally waived off at IITs,NITs and IIITs. There are even certain considerations for EWS candidates.

Besides this, IIITs do have a provision for Merit cum Means Scholarship for certain eligible candidates, on basis of both their academic performance in previous semesters as well as there Family's annual income.

This system is at par with IITs, NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes.

Hope that's helpful

Best of luck

Hello, as you have Sc category may be it would help you.
But at this rank it looks not possible for you to get any Nit, IIIT.
May be if chances can be there it seems to be in north eastern Nit like Sikkim, Nagaland,Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya with branches like civil, mechanical engineering but this also looks difficult and depends on this year cutoffs.
Cutoff changes every year.

So, I would recommend you to apply for Jossa counseling and then for Csab counseling which takes place after Jossa counseling.

You have to wait till spot round of counseling.

Refer to this link it will help you

All the best.
Hope this will help you.

Dear student,

As you have secured 10945 rank in St category then it is quite impossible for you to get any NIT or IIITs.
Because for getting a sure seat in any nit or iiit, your St rank must be under 2000.
But there is a chance that you can get some seats in good as well as lower NITs only if you belong to home state quota.
If you belong to home state quota then here are some nits that you can get are :-

  • Nit Meghalaya
  • Nit Manipur
  • Nit mizoram
  • Nit arunachal pradesh
  • Nit puducherry
  • Nit nagaland
  • Nit goa
  • Nit calicut
  • Nit kurukshetra
  • Nit jalandhar
  • Nit Agartala

Now if you are an other state student then sorry you cannot get any NIT.

Same is the case for iiits - you might get a seat if you belong from home state quota, otherwise there is no chance that you can get iiits.

You can check the previous years cut-off Trends for some of the top iiits, by the given link :-

Dear Aspirant,

IIIT cutoffs haven't been officially released yet. JoSAA counselling 2020 started yesterday 6th October so the cutoffs will be released after the process. If you wish to get into a IIIT you need to register for JoSAA counselling. Coming to your JEE mains rank there is possibility that you can get into a IIIT but I can't say that you will definitely get a seat at IIIT. Branches like IT/CSE usually have high cutoffs while branches like mechanical, civil and electronics and electrical engineering have slightly lower cutoffs. If you want to check out expected cutoffs and which IIITs you can get into , check out this link:

Dear candidate,

Getting admission into any college depends on following factors:-

  • No. of candidates appeared for exam
  • Difficulty level of exam
  • Category of student
  • Cutoff trends of past years
  • Seat intake

With your rank you have very good chances of getting a seat in IIIT. Some of them  in which you may have a seat are:-

  1. Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kurnool
  2. Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad
  3. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota

You may have cse ,mechanical and ece branches in the above colleges. For detailed information on cutoff of IIIT's follow the below link.

Hello Aspirant, hope you are doing good.

Firstly, congratulations for your JEE mains rank, I'm sure you gave your best. Now , coming to your JEE Mains rank, i'll say that for a general category rank ( I'm assuming you are from general category because you didn't specify any category in particular) , your rank is too high to get in either NITs or IIITs. To get into NITs with general category, you have to have a rank between 10k, and yours is far from that, so your chances are a bit low.

If you want to know about all the possible colleges that you can get into, with your JEE Mains rank, you can find it here:

Hello aspirant, hope you are doing good.

So, according to your JEE Mains rank, in OBC category, it's nearly impossible to get into any of these colleges whether NITs, IIITs or GFTIs, because you will be knowing that these colleges are the best in the world so they have really tight cutoff, and your rank is really far from the cutoff rank.

But there is no reason to get disheartened, you still have plenty of other options in your hand, that you can get into, use our college predictor tool to find about that:

The Ranking based on Student Preference, Academics as well as Placements is somewhat like

IIIT Gwalior> IIIT Jabalpur> IIIT Kanchipuram

Hence, IIIT Gwalior is the best of the lot. However I believe as far as B.Tech CSE is concerned, IIIT kanchipuram is rising as steadily as possible. Located in the southern belt of India near IT Hubs like Chennai, with research assistance and collaraboration with IIT Madras and NIT Trichy, it is one of the best rising Institutes of our country, and its a matter of time, when IIIT Kanchipuram will name among top IIITs.

Firstly, congratulations for your score, you did great, kudos to your efforts. Now, coming to your JEE Mains rank, in OBC category, you have a fair chance of getting into some of the NITs and IITs. As you haven't mentioned your home state, so I'm not really able to tell you the exact colleges, but you can still get in some of these:

1.NIT Uttarakhand

2. NIT Sikkim

3. NIT Mizoram
