The best NITs for pursuing B.Tech from core branches are listed below:-

  • National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli
  • National Institute of Technology Calicut
  • Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur
  • National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra

Hello Aspirant,

It depends on your state and placements in IIT are top notch among all institutions in India. However, placements should not be a concern for you, as a good education would pave many paths for your bright future but still among all branches, CSE, EE, Mechanical and Civil have the top placements.

Hope this helps

Good Luck

Hello Student,

A rank of 1148046 in CRL is a bit low of a rank. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately the top nits and IITs would be tough to get into with this score. Also other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes ( CFTIs) such as the IIITs also would be a bit tough. There might be some chances of you getting into newer NITs such as NIT Andhra Pradesh or NIT Pondicherry into courses that are relatively lesser in demand such as metallurgy.

However, since you have mentioned that you belong to the OBC category, the chances of you getting into some some of these universities are a bit more. There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into. Hence I would suggest you to apply for other universities

Some other good universities with this rank would be:

1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur

3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh

4. Delhi University

5. Shiv Nadar University

6. VIT, Vellore

7. Manipal Institute of Technology

Hello, hope you are doing well!

SASTRA was ranked 37th among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020, 25th among universities and 48th overall. Its a private college. IIITs are government colleges and are really reputed. IIIT Sri City although didn't come up in the NIRF ranking list 2020 along with the other IIITS that were there on the ranking list.

IIIT being specially started run for IT related streams, it seems to be a better option than SASTRA.  SASTRA is private University so gets better facilities than these colleges but finally exposure ,internship and placements companies prefer the Govt Technical institutes IIT NIT IIIT.

All the IIITs are governed by MHRD. That's why campus development is slower than private colleges like SASTRA. But IIIT Sricity has fared well. IIIT Sri City will run in their own campus completely from Aug 2018. Earlier, they had mess and hostels in their campus but classes were held in IFMR. And trust me the campus is designed and being constructed in a good manner. From a cool academic block to butterfly park, everything is being constructed nicely. The faculty of IIIT Sri City is good and so is the academic level. Research is the religion at IIIT. Almost every student publishes a paper there. Placement is also good, the average for the last batch being 8+ lpa.  You can learn coding well here and land up a good job.

So, I think IIIT will be a better option, be it any IIIT including IIIT SriCity.

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for your result

As per your rank, It is difficult to get NIT, IIIT, GFTI. Because your all India rank is above than 3 lakh. For getting CSE, in IIIT, NIT, GFTI rank should be below than 60K.

So at this rank it is very difficult to get CSE in NIT, IIIT, GFTI. NO worries, there may be many colleges which offer you desired course.

If you want to know the college that you may get, you can use our college predictor tool that might help you:

Hii sakshi

First of all congratulations to you.

In JAC counseling CRL rank is considered.

According to last year cut off of different college under JAC you can easily get good branch. As you mentioned above you are from Delhi then your home state quota is also applied.

If you are single girl child of your parents then you definitely get cs/it branch in top institutes of Delhi under the JAC.

But sorry to say that by this rank you didn't get any Nits/IIITs.

I recommend you a college predictor tool which definitely help you to find out a good college.

HAPPY HUSTLING!

Hi Aspirant!

Sorry to say but with this rank it would be impossible for you to get into IIITs based on other state quota but there is some chance if you belong to a state where home state quota is more powerful and seats are vacant.

As you did not mention your state I can not comment on that aspect. But all and all your chances to get into IIITs is only possible under HOME STATE QUOTA.

Further more you can also try your luck by participating in CSAB SPECIAL COUNSELLING.

You can check Cutoffs of different IIITs by following this career360's article:

HAPPY HUSTLING!

Hey,

As per the previous year cutoff there is no chance to get a seat in any IIITs or NITs. Your category rank is too much. Also you are not getting any seat in your state Nit.

However you can try for the state level counseling like Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka etc.

To know your admission chances in JOSAA counseling & State counseling, You can use JEE Main college Predictor tool i.e given below.

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hope it will helpful.

Thank you!

Dear Aspirant,

The chances are very less that you will get any government college whether NIT or IIIT or GFTI. I suggest you should either prepare again for the JEE 2021, or take admission in some private colleges.
