IIIT Hyderabad is considered as being better to all nits. However, as a private institution, IIIT Hyderabad has relatively high tuition costs. Additionally, IIITs have much superior coding cultures than many NITs. Also, IIITs in Delhi and Allahabad are far superior to NITs in terms of coding.

I think its not underrated, they are less preferred over NITs. Because IIITs are very expensive in terms of fees because it is private institute. However, in terms of education  IIITs are far better than many NITs. Also, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT allahabad , IIIT delhi are far better than
