Dear Student ,
It's totally depend on the specific IIIT/NITs .In case of NITs .. NIT Trichy is best with the view placement reviews .Beside that, IIIT Hyderabad is famous for ECE of curriculum .. but the teaching methodology is equally good for both institutes . You can also choose your preferred NIT/IIITs from the last year cut off details of JEE MAINs.
Well, as per placement records .. you can choose the following NITs :
You can find previous year cut off details for ECE in Various NITs from this link;
Hope this answer helps !!
Hi,
Usually the caste certificate is issued by State governments. In order to get reservation in Central Institutes like NITs, IITs, IIITs your caste should be in the Central Caste list of Central Government. For example if your caste belong to OBC in Uttar pradesh But it doesn't belong to Central Government OBC List then you are not eligible to get reservation in IITs ,IIITs , NITs. Apart from this, if you belong to OBC, you will also need OBC-NCL Certificate. This certificate is issued only when you have income less than certain limit set by government. If you have both OBC caste certificate, and OBC NCL certificate then you are eligible to get reservation benefits in JEE.
I hope this will answer your concern.
Thanks!!!!

Hello Aspirant! If you're from general category, with this rank it's impossible for you to get any NIT or IIIT with any branch as the cutoff for NIT's and most probably IIIT's are very high. You need to have a rank under 10000 to get one. You may get your home state NIT if you're from Haryana or Mizoram as their cutoffs are low for general category home state students as compared to other NIT's.
You can try in other state level counsellings like JAC Delhi or JAC Chandigarh as chances of getting Civil branch is moderate.
You can also use this link to predict your college:

Hey
Yes you can fill gfts and iiits along with nit in the choice filling.Th e seats in the JoSAA participating institutes will be offered on the basis of merit and preference of courses and colleges filled by them during the counselling process so fill the choices accordingly. With a JEE Main Rank of 42k, being from EWS, with a Category Rank of 6188, you have moderate to fair chances of securing a seat in some of the following Colleges
1. IIIT Ranchi, Kurnool, Una CSE, Dharwad AI
2. BIT Mesra Mechanical (Best Option, considering Placements, College Life, Faculty, Infrastructure, NIRF)
3. Chemical, Civil, Metallurgy at many NITs including Jaipur, Jamshedpur, IC NIT Jalandhar, Raipur, Hamirpur, Metallurgy NIT Nagpur, EC NIT Srinagar
4. EC/Electrical Top IIITs (Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Kancheepuram)
