Vellore Institute of Technology or VIT is a prestigious institute and one of the best institutions in India for engineering. Whereas, LPU is a newly established private university and its overall rank for engineering is lower than that of VIT. While both the colleges have their own pros and cons, it is always said the placements are more dependent on student rather than college.

VIT vs LPU RANK-

• The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked VIT 24 overall and 16 among universities in 2018. Among engineering colleges, it was ranked 16 by NIRF in 2018, 5th by India Today in 2017 and 9th by Outlook India in 2017.

• Lovely Professional University was ranked 66 among engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2017. Times of India ranked LPU 14th Best Private Engineering University in North Zone. But in NIRF top 100 engineering colleges ranking of 2018, LPU is not in the list. 

These rankings are given on the basis of several parameters like resources, research, and stakeholder perception. 

VIT vs LPU INFRASTRUCTURE-

VIT campus is spread across a vast area of 250 acres. A striking feature of VIT is the well- planned and comprehensive infrastructure provided for both students and faculty. Fully furnished and well-equipped labs decorate every building in the University with over 55 servers to manage all the data transmissions. Moreover, the university is blessed with ample features that support all kinds of events - Auditoriums, plush open spaces, outdoor stages and much more.

The Campus of LPU, spread across 600 acres, has some architecturally striking buildings. Smart classrooms- Multimedia projectors are used to make learning more interactive and comprehensive. Apart from these, university has Shopping & Eating Facilities such as Uni-mall, Dominos etc, huge playgrounds, 40 playfields and skating zone, numerous open air theaters namely Shri Baldev Raj Square, Smt. Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, Sunken Stage, Shed Street, and auditoriums namely University Auditorium, Shri Baldev Raj Mittal, and Smt. Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, air-conditioned central library, and many more facilities.

In terms of infrastructure, both are colleges are great but definitely one has way more facilities than the other.

VIT vs LPU PLACEMENTS-

Vellore Institute of Technology- In the year 2018, Microsoft, DE Shaw and PayPal being the top recruiters placed 16 students in the first slot of placement session. Eight students got a super dream offer of Rs 39 lakhs per annum by Microsoft. DE Shaw & Co. offered a package of Rs 33 lakhs per annum to one student while 7 students received a dream offer of 21.5 lakhs by PayPal. More than 500 recruiting companies are expected to visit Vellore Institute of Technology.

Lovely Professional University- In 2018, 5015 (overall including engineering, management etc.) offers for graduating batches 2017 & 2018 have already been generated, with highest annual salary package of Rs 31.83 Lakh for engineering students. A lot of prestigious global companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Schneider Electrical, and so on, recruit engineering graduates of this college. 

Therefore, in terms of placement both the colleges provide ample opportunities.

Conclusion-

VIT founded in 1984 is a pioneer institute for studying engineering which competes with IITs in terms of its education. Whereas LPU established in 2005 is still making its place as a good engineering institute (while it has become a great college for management studies). For the current scenario, it is quite clear that if you opt for VIT, you are getting in one of the best institutions of your field.

Though its not a compulsion that you need to study in VIT just because it is better. LPU is also a good college which has great faculty and other amenities. But your salary package is not dependent on your college, it depends on your academic performance. Ultimately, a company will see your marks and recruit you accordingly!

Lpu is a really good college for computer science engineering. It is one of the best private colleges. The placements of this college are really good. Almost all the students with fine attendance get placed. Highest package is around 25 lakhs. Average is around 3-4 lakhs. The infrastructure of the college is also up to the mark. Also the faculty is extremely helpful and experienced.
