I will be blunt with my answer here but it is for your good.

for civil engineering LPU is not a good choice ,it may be good one for CSE ,ECE or MBA but the worst for civil and mechanical engineering

there is no relation between theory and practical knowledge

The eligibility criteria for B.tech is as follows:

1. Candidates need to pass with 60% aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English.

2. Entrance exam of B.tech in LPU is LPUNEST (which has its own cut-off marks) which the candidate has to be bring.

I assume you are asking about lovely professional university and The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies , among which  would be the right choice to do bachelor of technology course. see both of the institute has excellent infrastructure, college facility like hostels, lab facility, extra curricular activities. you

You have secured a good rank in LPU Entrance exam. There is high possibility that you will get Computer Science Engineering with that rank.

You will get other branches too in all the Lovely Professional University campus. Go and participate in counselling, you will get CSE with that

Lpu is one of the fancy colleges which are available on the education scene. 

although they are a tad bit expensive, they provide a good name and placements are good as well
