Your marks from the above mentioned examinations put you in a good position for being considered for various engineering colleges. The pu marks cut off for considereation is 50-55% and above. Fee concession depends on which college you’re applying for.

Hi Kiran,

I don't think it will be possible for you to get NIT Surathkal by JoSSA counseling because you need to secure a rank below 10000 to stand a chance in any branch.

Competition is such that even after the 7th round of JoSSA, it will not be possible

How are placements in NIT Trichy Metallurgy and NIT surathkal Metallurgy ?

NIT Trichy is definitely a good college when it comes to engineering colleges.It's atmosphere, peers, competition is above all.When it comes to placements in NIT Trichy, they are good for all branches provided you are a good and hard working student. Hey Gagandeep, hope you are doing well. See EWS is newly introduced category so nothing can be predicted with it's rank accurately unless and until the cutoffs are out. I got 15000 rank belong to st category I can get nit surthkaal

If 15000 rank is your crl rank then you can get admission in nit suratkal as you belong to st category .
But if this is still category rank then not possible to get seat in nit .

Dear Aspirant, hope you are doing well. Sorry to disappoint that you might not NIT SURATHKAL as the closing rank is approximately around 1000. You have a good rank but not that good to get into surathkal. You can get other NITs also at this rank. Hope it helps!! Good

Which will be better IT at NIT Surathkal or CSE at VNIT Nagpur?

Hey Vishal, hope you are doing well. NIT Surathkal is one of the topmost NITS ( after NIT Warangal and NIT Tiruchillapali) . Obviously IT at NIT Surathkal is better as compared to CSE at VNIT Nagpur. There might be slight variations in the subjects of IT and CSE branch

Based on the cutoff of 2018 , the closing rank was 11813

So your chances are less according to last year trend.

Every year the cutoff will vary based on the difficulty level of exam, no of applicants, no of seats available etc.

College does have all the required infrastructure, good classrooms, good department buildings, good hostels along with sports complex, a supermarket, many canteens, swimming pool, gym, outdoor sports courts, amphitheatre etc.,

College Infrastructure

Nit surathkal campus is large and science with well equipped computing labs,workshops, and research centres . Classroom are modern and wi-Fi covers the campus . Hostels and common facilities support student life well.

College Infrastructure

There are enough buildings for classrooms. Wifi is available through out campus through captive portal login. Two libraries with air-conditioners are available. There are 3 grounds Two sports complexes which are too good. 12 boys hostels and 5 girls' hostel are available. Mess food is decent. We get boy veg and non-veg mess. 3 night canteens are available which serve midnights. There is a food court too. We also get a private beach. Campus has a well connection of road (NH66) which runs between the campus splitting it in two. There are guest houses available. Overall very good infrastructure.
