National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar , one of the premier institutes in Jammu and Kashmir. It was established in 1960 and offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D.NIT Srinagar is a good college, and the college is situated in a beautiful place. Placements here are much better than other colleges. Mostly half of the students got internships. Placements in CS or IT branches are much better. The placement rate of NIT Srinagar, core branches at NIT Srinagar (https://collegedunia.com/university/25571-national-institute-of-technology-nit-srinagar) is approximately 70% while the branches like IT and CSE generally grab 100% placements in the on-campus placements.
Facilities in our college are much better for the hostel. We have good labs and classrooms.
Hi Aspirant,
As per the rules, 15 days of winter holidays and 2 months of summer holidays are given to the NITs all over the India.
But, NIT Srinagar, Holidays depends upon number of functional days as well. Because of protests and strike and excessive snowfall in winter, these holidays are manipulated as per the administrative decisions.
Greetings,
As far as reputation and ranking is concerned, COEP is arguably better than NIT Srinagar.
There are a few factors for such things:
- College establishment and ranking
- Infrastructure
- Academics and faculty
- Placements and internships
- College culture and diversity
COEP:
- very well established (one of the oldest Engineering colleges in India)
- Placements are great (approx. 7 lacs per annum avg. salary offered for SCE branch in 2019)
- Ranking wise, COEP is better than NIT Srinagar if you exclude the allure of the NIT tag
- College culture is far better than Srinagar with more diversity, a big city experience and many events to look forward to.
NIT Srinagar:
- It commands a natural respect being an NIT
- Placements are great with avg. packages for most core branches ranging around 8 lacs per annum.
- As far as college culture is concerned, things are a bit lacking as NIT Srinagar is not much of an active participating college in national events.
Hope it helps,
Good day!

Dear Aspirant,
Facilities wise and infrastructure wise both the colleges are nice. So I am differing them on the basis of their fee structure and placements.
NIT Srinagar : The fees for whole B.Tech course in CSE is near 5.30 lakhs. In computer science and engineering, there are almost 100% placements. In 2018 batch, the highest salary package offered is 28 LPA whereas the average salary package offered is approximately 11 LPA.
Jamia Malia Islamia : Total fees is around 65000. JMI computer engineering department has very good placements. About 90% of the students are placed here with an average salary of 10 lacs and the highest salary package was 20 lacs. Top recruiters are Samsung, Wipro, innovacer etc.
So overall placement wise NIT Srinagar is good.
Hope this helps.

All the best friend!
Facilities are okay, with classrooms that are functional and equipped with WiFi and smartboards. Laboratories meet basic needs. The library is large but lacks some newer resources. Sports facilities are acceptable, though not always fully utilized. Hostels need better cleanliness, and food needs improvement.
yes, our college has all the facilities and infrastructures we have facilities like wifi, smart boards and seating and acoustics, and labs are euipped up to date equipment relevent to the subjects being taught
Wow, that's what you will say after looking at our campus. Beautiful view with greenery and more amazing in the rainy season. I didn't like the mess food at all. Also good built hostel rooms with proper wifi facilities are present.
