    National Institute of Technology Srinagar was established in the year 1960. In the year 2003, NIT Srinagar acquired status of 'Institute of National Importance' and was granted deemed to be university status. The campus of the university is spread over an area of 68 acres.     The admission for B. Tech. programmes in National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is offered through the counselling process conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), after the candidate successfully clears the JEE Main. For NIT Srinagar admission in M.Tech. courses, one must have a valid score in the GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering). The scholarship amount varies according to different states and categories of the student. The scholarship amount offered to the day scholars is different from the scholarship amount offered to the hostellers.     Since it has established in 1960 so it has nice infrastructure but it has not new type infrastructure design you can get all needy normally things inside the college campus only it has all the facilities which are needed in the college campus normally. All the department separately have their own building .Quality of classrooms are well. It has also well-equipped laboratory systems it has also Wi-Fi system and LAN system
