NIT Srinagar Facilities

The university offers many modern facilities to the students. With the help of NIT Srinagar facilities, students conduct many research programmes and experiments in the different laboratories of the university. The departmental work is also carried out in these laboratories, and regular practical lectures are organised for the students to understand the mechanism of different machines and devices that are frequently employed in their course.

Students are allowed to be accommodated in the hostels constructed on the campus. Hostels are provided at affordable prices. Guest houses, central workshops, computer centres, laboratories, and many others are some other facilities provided at NIT Srinagar. A well-stocked library is present at the university campus for students. Further, the university has facilities for indoor and outdoor sports who sports enthusiasts.

Boys Hostel
The university has four boys hostels - Indus Hostel, Jhelum Hostel, Chenab Hostel and Mansar & Manasbal Hostel. Only students enrolled in B.Tech programmes can avail hostel facilities offered by NIT Srinagar. Each hostel has well furnished room to offer a comfortable stay to students.
Library
The central library of the NIT Srinagar, comprises 67511 books, journals, volumes, editions, study material, learning resources, DVDs, and cassettes for the students to gain adequate knowledge about the required subject. Students can easily find books of various streams at the library.
Laboratories
The laboratories of the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, consist of all the necessary machines and apparatus used for conducting experiments. Through this, the institute guarantees the students to seek practical knowledge of the subject along with theoretical knowledge.
Guest Room/Waiting Room
The guest house of the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, comprises air-conditioned rooms, dining halls, kitchen, lounge, etc., for the guests to enjoy a comfortable stay in the university.
Convenience Store
The shopping complex situated on the campus of NIT Srinagar takes care of all the shopping needs of the hostellers, faculty members, staff, and day scholars of the institute. Daily groceries and other essential goods and commodities like milk, stationery, fruits, etc., can be bought from the shopping complex.
Medical/Hospital
The university offers medical facilities to the students and faculty members. Ambulance service and a team of medicos are available in dispensary 24*7 to attend to any medical emergencies.
Gym
The NIT Srinagar, has constructed a gymnasium for the students to ensure their physical fitness. Hostellers of NIT Srinagar can also avail the facility of the gymnasium.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria of NIT Srinagar offers healthy food and beverages to the students, staff and faculty members. The students can enjoy healthy and tasty snacks and food items at subsidised rates.
Sports
The university offers both indoor and outdoor sports facilities to the students. NIT Srinagar encourages students to play sports, that helps them in keeping their mind and body healthy.
Girls Hostel
The girls hostel present at the campus is a three storey building and it has a total of 50 rooms. The hostel has a computer room, reading room etc. It has an accommodation capacity of 100 students. Each room at the hostel is shared by two students.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of college is very calm and greeny and feels like less stressed and relaxed always. Classrooms are spacious labs are functional, and the scenic campus near dal lake is beautiful. hostels are average but facilities are gradually getting better.

College Infrastructure

The campus is honestly one of the most beautiful in the country with a scenic view of Dal lake and surroundings mountain. some hostels are a bit old. but they are manageable overall the natural beauty makes the college feel special.

College Infrastructure

Facilities are okay, with classrooms that are functional and equipped with WiFi and smartboards. Laboratories meet basic needs. The library is large but lacks some newer resources. Sports facilities are acceptable, though not always fully utilized. Hostels need better cleanliness, and food needs improvement.

NIT Srinagar does not accept the RBA (Resident Backward Area) category as it is a reservation category specific to Jammu and Kashmir and not recognized at the national level, including for admissions to central institutions like NITs so you are not able to apply.

Taking admission in nit srinagar in civil branch or in any other college in cse branch completely depends on your choice. It depends on your thought process and the field in which you want to further pursue your study. Both the branches are suitable and best for pursuing
