BIT Durg Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

For the boys, the institute provides a hostel. It can currently hold up to 350 boys. A chair, a study table, a cot, a fan, a bulb connection, two plug points, and shelves are provided in each hostel room. Other than this, there are various facilities in the hostel such as water coolers with an aqua guard, books and stationery shop, 24 hours internet connectivity, medical facility, guest room, generator, games facilities including table tennis boards, etc, intercom line, bank and ATM, magazine and newspapers are provided, TV room, gym, etc. There is a mess facility in the boys’ hostel. For the resident student hostellers, the messes provide boarding and catering services. The quality of the food is strictly monitored, and the mess operation is kept clean and healthy. The mess serves hygenic meals at a modest price.

The institute has a hostel for female students. It can currently hold up to 190 girls. Water coolers with an aqua guard, books and stationery shop, 24-hour internet connectivity, medical facility, guest room, generator, games facilities including table tennis boards, intercom line, bank and ATM, magazine and newspaper are provided, TV room, gym, and so on are all available in the hostel. In the girls' hostel, there is a mess facility. The messes provide boarding and catering for the student hostellers who live on campus. The mess operation is kept clean and healthy, and the food quality is closely monitored. The mess provides hygienic food at a reasonable cost. Each hostel room has a chair, a study table, a cot, a fan, a bulb connection, two plug points, and shelves.

In-house students have access to clinical consultation and first-aid services. A separate medical officer for the boys' hostel and a lady medical officer for the girls' hostels have been appointed by the institute. The hospitals are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. BIT has first-aid kits in all of its departments, sections, and offices.

Treadmills and elliptical machines line the walls, there are a few "weight-lifting" machines, a room for low-impact cardio aerobic classes, and free weights in the back or upstairs. All of these amenities, as well as many others, are available on the BIT campus.

The institute has a modern central library with approximately 55,000 books in various engineering, science, computer application, and management disciplines. It also has a separate reference section with approximately 20,000 books for easy access by students. There is a separate room for faculty and staff, as well as a separate room for PG and Research scholars. All of these sections have a free internet surfing zone with 50 computers for access to e-books, e-journals, and e-magazines. The central library has been outfitted with CCTV  web cameras, which cover the entire configuration.

Cricket ground, volleyball court, badminton court, basketball court, tennis court, and modern health club are all part of the institute's sports complex. Aside from the extensive playground and playrooms, the campus offers a variety of indoor and outdoor games, all of which are overseen by an expert sports instructor.

Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg has a well-maintained IT infrastructure on the campus premises. The institute has a computer lab that provides IT infrastructure facilities to the students.

BIT Durg provides convenient, hygienic refreshment facilities at a subsidised rate in two college canteens and one café coffee corner.

BIT Durg facilities and include an auditorium on the campus premises for students. The auditorium hosts seminars, music shows and other activities.

The college has a good networking for alumni association.

Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg campus is Wi-Fi enabled. For internet connectivity, BIT has 110 Mbps internet lease lines from two different ISPs. All of the blocks are linked together by a highly secure network that connects over 1,000 PCs to the internet via broadband connections and is powered by four high-end servers.

Students have access to departmental based laboratories at the institute.

A student store is located on campus and provides basic and emergency necessities for students and staff. Aside from stationery, the store also sells snacks, biscuits, and other foods.

Within the college campus, there is a full-fledged branch of United Commercial (UCO) Bank with an ATM and BCS facility.
