Decent campus vibe, average academics and placements.

    College Infrastructure

The infrastructure at BMSCE is decent but not exceptional. The campus has the essential facilities like classrooms, labs , libraries, and Wi-Fi, but many of them feel a bit old. While some blocks are well maintained, others need better upkeep. The labs have the required equipment and the computers are of almost latest technology. The library is good but often crowded during exam season. Overall, the infrastructure supports academic needs, but there is definitely room for improvement.

    Academics

Academically, BMSCE offers a solid foundation, but the overall experience can feel inconsistent. some faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, while others rely heavily on slides or follow a very theoretical approach. The curriculum is good, but the teaching methods don't always feel engaging or industry - oriented. Students who out in extra effort and explore beyond classroom teaching benefits the most. Overall, academics are decent, but there is clear scope of making classes more interactive and updated with current trends.

    Placements

Placements are decent but not exceptional. Good companies visit mainly for CS/IT, while other branches get fewer opportunities. Packages vary a lot, and you need strong personal effort to get a good offer. Recent increase in the student intake has created a lot of competition, having a very good CGPA is a must.

    Value for Money

Value for money is moderate. Fees feel a bit high for the facilities and placement outcomes. You get decent academic environment, but the overall return doesn't fully match the cost.

    Campus Life

Campus life at BMSCE is lively and engaging. Fests , clubs and events happen often, and the crowd is active and friendly. The campus vibe is energetic, making daily college life enjoyable. But everything is very average.

Pretty good college if you are very much career oriented

    College Infrastructure

Provides all the necessary facilities like good classrooms, laboratories, library with sufficient study space.Could've been better in terms of sports facilities like a wider sports ground aesthetics also.

    Academics

I'm studying CSE. Quality of teaching is really good. Maximum number of professors also focus on extra things apart from studying as well. Yes almost everything I'm studying will help me a lot for placements

    Placements

So far it has been really good. About the placement process I'm not really sure. But it has been pretty decent so far. The college was really supportive to the students for their placement hence it was good.

    Value for Money

It cost me 2.8 lakhs/year for CSE. Honestly, this amount of money is a lot considering the facilities provided. Being a BM student is really worth it.

    Chill campus,decent labs,academics good,fests mid.

    College Infrastructure

BMSCE has a small, crowded campus with mid infrastruture.Labs are well-equipped,but classrooms and space feel tight.Functional overall, but it lacks the open, spacious vibe that some students may hope for.

    Academics

studying B.E. in CSE .Teaching is mostly good, with some excellent professors.Curriculum is decent and fairly updated; it builds a strong foundation, though extra effort is needed to be fully job-ready.

    Placements

Placements at BMSCE are good for students with a strong CGPA,but with the growing size,it's unclear how opportunities will scale.Recently, companies like Apple have visited, which is promising.Overall, placement support exists, but competition is high and results vary widely.

    Value for Money

BMSCE offers good value for money.Fees are reasonable, academics are strong, labs are decent, and placements opportunities exist.Overall,a worthy inverstment for quality education.

    Campus Life

Campus life at BMSCE is chill and student-friendly.Clubs are active, but fests are quite mid.Overall,a relaxed enviornment to enjoy college while managing academics.

The infrastructure of our college is good. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. We have classrooms with smart boards and a huge library. Good quality and tasty food served is available in canteen and hostel. Our college has 2 more canteens. There are 2 grounds for sports and other activities.

    Academics

Our college has highly qualified teachers. They are professionals with Ph.D. Degree. The course curriculum is relevant to the current time and is best for future industries. If we listen to classes and read a few times a week we can easily score good marks in semester exams. The pass percentage is 35%

    Strong industry connections for jobs

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

The hostel facilities are very good, featuring a decent mess and exclusive events and fests for hostel residents. There are separate grounds for sports, and while Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, accessing it can be difficult due to numerous restrictions, which makes it less than satisfactory. Classrooms are generally great. Although they are somewhat old, they serve their purpose well. The library is also quite good, containing nearly all the books you will ever need, but it can feel crowded given the number of users

    Academics

Our faculty members are quite qualified and generally provide good teaching. The quality of instruction isn't the best, it is still very good. They are quite helpful. The curriculum is outdated, changing only slightly each year and not keeping pace with industry needs. From the second year onwards, the exams become quite challenging, and the subjects can be hard to pass or achieve a good GPA in.

    Placements

About 80% of students get placed, and last year, around 85% of my branch was placed. In my course electrical and electronics engineering the lowest salary was 3 LPA, the average was 6 LPA and the highest was 13 LPA. Top recruiters include Havells, Dassault Systems, and various startups. Internships are compulsory for everyone, with major companies including BESCOM, JESCO, and startups offering opportunities for roles such as junior engineer in power systems.

    Spacious classrooms with smart technology

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

Our college campus is too small, and we get bored seeing such a small campus. There is no proper ground for us to play on, and it is too congested. The library is spacious and we are happy with it. They don't provide us with Wi-Fi. College hostels are okay, not too good to tell about them.

    Academics

Our college lecturers teach well, but they don't care about us. The syllabus is too hard, especially in the Electronics and Communication branch. From the 3rd semester onward, things were too difficult. In the C cycle, the CAED subject is actually a waste and of no use, to be honest.

    Placements

As far as I know, this is one of the top colleges for placements in Bangalore. Last year, the highest package was 47 LPA. On average, over 90% of students get campus selection and good placements, with highly paid and affordable salaries for their life

    Safe and secure college environment

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

Hostel infrastructure is okay for students who are coming from international countries they have a separate hostel but students who are from India. They have a lot of hostels the food is also better compared to many other hostels. Wi-Fi facilities are available but not up to the mark classrooms are very good for the first years, classrooms are okay. Library is also very good, when it comes to sports BMS College of Engineering participates mainly in good positions in sports like it offers everything for the student's need for physical activity and supports everyone.

    Academics

Teachers are very well-qualified in BMS College of Engineering. Many of them are doctorates. They clear all the doubts we have, even after the class hours and they make students industry-ready from the second year itself. Students mostly adjust to the college environment and start preparing for interviews from the second year. Semester exams of engineering colleges are moderate compared but are more application based we have to understand everything and should be able to apply them in application based.

    Placements

Mostly 75% of students get placed here. If we speak about the lowest package, it is around 4-5 LPA, and the average is around 9-10 LPA. The highest package during the COVID was low, but now, it is 54 LPA in the recent placements. Top roles are Management, Senior Developer, Frontend and Backend Developer, and other major roles for highly skilled students.

had a decent experience in BMS, academically good experience

    College Infrastructure

okay infrastructure, lot of resources available but most students not aware, no ground, only one indoor stadium for multiple sports. multiple canteens and only few hostels inside campus are present currently

    Academics

studying electronics and communication from bms has given me lots of knowledge, faculty is good sometimes strict but, curriculum is updated but few courses study old software but labs will make you prepared

    Placements

majority companies come for software roles, few for core and very few for mechanical and allied branches. Software companies provide packages between 0-45lpa and circuit branches packages go upto 20lpa

    Labs upgraded with latest machines

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

College is large and full of facilities. Classrooms are well-maintained and some are digitally equipped. Labs have modern equipment and provide great practical exposure. The central library is a highlight, with a large collection of books, research papers, and e-resources. Hostel facilities are safe, with Wi-Fi and decent food options. The campus also provides sports grounds, auditoriums, and health facilities.

    Academics

Favulty are very supportive of students. Professors are friendly, knowledgeable, and good at explaining concepts clearly. They encourage students to take part in workshops, innovation labs, and real-world projects. Teachers also mentor students for competitive exams, internships, and research publications. The strong bond between students and faculty creates a motivating environment.

    Placements

Placements are one of the best aspects of my college. The average package stands around ₹6–7 LPA, while some lucky students have bagged offers above ₹40 LPA. Top recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, SAP Labs, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and Bosch. Mass recruiters hire in bulk, while product-based companies give higher packages. Core engineering branches also get placed in reputed firms, though in fewer numbers.

Have a question related to BMSCE Bangalore ?

Yes, to get admission into colleges that come under PMSSS (Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme) such as RV College of Engineering (RVCE), BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), and other private engineering colleges in Karnataka, you generally need to qualify through the regular engineering admission process of the state or the institute. PMSSS itself does not conduct a separate entrance exam; it only provides a scholarship to eligible students after admission.

For most Karnataka engineering colleges like RVCE and BMSCE, admission is primarily done through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) for state quota seats and through COMEDK UGET for management/private quota seats. Students applying under PMSSS are usually required to secure admission through one of these recognised entrance exams, depending on the seat category available for PMSSS candidates in that particular college.

In some cases, if you are opting for management quota seats, the college may consider your JEE Main score or conduct its own admission process, but this varies from college to college. After securing admission through the approved entrance route, eligible students from J&K and other notified regions can then apply for PMSSS to receive the scholarship benefits.

So, in summary, you are required to appear for an entrance exam like KCET, COMEDK, or sometimes JEE Main, depending on the college and seat type. PMSSS works as a financial support scheme and not as an alternative admission route. It is important to check the admission brochure of both the college and PMSSS for the specific year to understand seat availability and eligibility conditions clearly.

    All the best.

    Hello,

Yes, if you already have the SNQ quota, it will continue in the next rounds also.

So, if you get PES RR CS (AI/ML) in the next round, it will also be allotted under the SNQ quota.

You don’t need to apply for SNQ again, it remains the same for all rounds.

    Hope it helps!

    Hey Param:)

    Thanks for reaching out!

In KCET counselling, the SNQ quota seats are fixed separately for every college and branch, and they don't automatically transfer if you upgrade. Right now, you have BMSCE CSE under SNQ, but if you try for PES RR (AI/ML) in the next round, you will get the SNQ benefit there, only if that branch has SNQ seats left and your rank is high enough to secure one. Otherwise, even if you get the seat, it maybe alloted under regular quota and you won't get the tution fee waiver . That's why it's important to select choice-2 while trying for an update, so that your BMSCE SNQ seat remains safe if you don't get the new SNQ seat at PES RR. This way you won't lose the benefit you already hold.

    Hope this helps!
