GCE Salem Facilities

Government College of Engineering Salem offers many facilities to the students, faculty and staff. GCE Salem facilities include accommodation facilities, medical facilities, cafeteria, auditorium, and many other facilities. The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls. The library of the college provides students with a large number of resources to help them with their studies. Government College of Engineering Salem facilities also include various sports infrastructure. The college also has a cafeteria that provides healthy and nutritious meals to the students, faculty and staff. Transportation facilities are also provided by the college. A dispensary is present to take care of all the medical needs. The auditorium is used for organising events and functions. An IT infrastructure is also part of GCE Salem campus facilities and 24 hours internet facility is also provided by the college. Boys Hostel
There are three hostels for boys. It can accommodate 569 boys. All basic facilities are provided to the students. The hostel has a canteen, mess, fax, phone, recreational facilities and many other facilities.
Girls Hostel
There are two hostels for girls that can accommodate 279. The hostel mess provides meals to the students. Wifi and purified water are available in the hostel.
Medical/Hospital
A dispensary is present on campus. It also has a medical officer, a nurse, a pharmacy store, two beds, etc.
Library
Government College of Engineering Salem facilities include a library. The library has many textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, e-books, CDs, DVDs and other academic resources. Online services are also provided by the college. More than 60,000 books are available in the college library. The library has adopted the Universal Decimal Classification system.
Sports
GCE Salem provides a large number of sports facilities to the students. This includes fields and grounds for various outdoor games. Courts and fields for football, cricket, hockey, handball, volleyball, badminton, etc are available. Indoor games like carrom, table tennis, chess, etc are available in the college.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has the latest and modern IT infrastructure facilities.
Auditorium
The college auditorium is used by the students and faculty to conduct various activities and functions. It is equipped with an LCD projector, slide projector and overhead projector.
Transport Facility
The college provides transportation facilities for the students and staff.

Alumni association functioning in the college.
Convenience Store
A consumer co-operative store is present on campus. It supplies books, instruments, stationery, toilet articles, etc.

CSE in GCE salem or CIVIL in CIT which is better choice?

Hii

The condition of civil branch is becoming worse daya by day. Even the same thing is going on top colleges for civil too. The students of civil are moving towards service based IT companies.

So don't go for choice of college, go for CSE and give your efforts to land in product based IT companies from off campus recruitment.

Government College of Engineering Salem has not release the Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science cutoff list for MBC category for TNEA counselling due to some reasons. But it is expected that Government College of Engineering Salim will soon release the cutoffs for Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science course for MBC category.

Which is better civil in coimbatore institute of technology or EEE in gce salem?

It's not about the place but the stream that you need to consider as the two branches are very distinct from one another and provide diverse career opportunities. There are just a small number of government-related positions available in the market for civil engineers. So you should choose civil engineering if you want to pursue government sector jobs, which are limited.

However, compared to Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) has a greater number of work opportunities, therefore if you wish, you should pursue this field.
