Government Polytechnic situated at Pilibhit and is one of the premier technical colleges primarily in Pilibhit town, Uttar Pradesh state which was founded in the year 1989. This affiliated college for B.Tech approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICT E) aims in providing quality education in the field of engineering. Located on a 10.61 acres of land, the institute has taken in a total of 490 students for its various courses and has a strength of 11 teachers. Government Polytechnic at Pilibhit provides the diploma in three different subject specialisations in the branch of engineering. The principal goal of the institute is technical education and hence is an ideal institution that many students in the region prefer to join to pursue their engineering dreams.

A fabrication of well equipped laboratories for each of the departments is also in place meaning practical aspects are practiced in a proper way. A good library is an essential element of education as the centre of academic learning and research. Other special facilities that can be provided in the college include; For those who bear interest in sports. Government Polytechnic provide various athletic to enable the student’s health wise as well as academic wise. The institute has good IT facilities for supporting the latest trends in teaching learning methodology and to make aware the students about technological advancements. The meals required for consumption by the students and staff are well provided for by a cafeteria that is found at the compound. The college also has a guest house for faculty visits and for families of the students as well. Under its facilities, Government Polytechnic, Pilibhit has a girls’ hostel which provide places of accommodation for female students from various areas.

Government Polytechnic, Pilibhit, has three programmes – all diploma courses – each of which lasts three years. These programmes focus various branches of engineering hence covering a wide list of possibilities for students’ future professions including Diploma in Civil Engineering. The overall intake capacity as approved in all courses is 180 students per year while each course takes 60 students. This controlled intake protects the individual interest of each student enroled by giving them quality education.

The admission goes through merit and process is planned. Aspirants seeking admission should sit for the Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnic, or JEECUP for short. This entrance examination was established by the Joint entrance examination council (JEEC), Lucknow. Having passed the entracen examn, candidates are placed different polytechnics through counseling. As much as all the reservations are adopted as per the policies of the Uttar Pradesh government; thus, the gates to join the learning process are opened for all.
