GSSSIETW Mysore Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a hostel system is comprised of 3 blocks that can accommodate 400 students. Each hostel block has a hostel warden to supervise the day-to-day management. Each room is designed for three inmates. The room comes with an attached bath that is modern and suited to international standards. Each student has a separate wardrobe, study table, chair, cot, and pin-up board. BLOCK A - is home to pre-final and final-year students. A modern kitchen with a steam cooking facility and mechanized food processing equipment is located in this block. Pure vegetarian food is cooked using the best quality ingredients in hygienic conditions. A clean dining hall with mineral water for drinking is located adjacent to the kitchen. BLOCK B - houses the second-year students. A coffee shop and student amenities center that caters to the students' requirements like photocopying, spiral binding, lamination, mobile recharge, and many more are housed in this block. BLOCK C - Offers to stay for freshers exclusively. It also houses the quarters of the resident warden so that utmost care and attention is given to students who leave home for the first time to lead a life of hostility.

The college has A lady doctor who visits the hostel for consultation thrice a week. A nurse is available 24 hrs to take care of sick students. A dedicated vehicle for the hostellers is available on the campus to transport sick students to the hospital in case of an emergency.

The college has launched Multi-Gym on 01/10/2016 at the GSSSIETW campus. This provides Fitness Training, Weight Loss/ gain, Aerobics classes. A gym is equipped with well-modernized pieces of equipment like CU upright bike, E Glide elliptical, Multi-station GYM EXM, Infinite rower model, Commercial use step board, Neoprene ankle weight 2.0 Kg, Anti-burst gym ball, Dumbbells. Around 20 students are taking befit of the Gym. Students are trained by a well-experienced Gym instructor. The Gym runs in 2 sessions From morning 6 Am to 8 Am and in the evening from 5 pm to 7 pm.

The college has a library that is automated using the user-friendly library automation software called “Easylib software” which also takes care of institutions' digital libraries.• The completely automated library management system makes it possible to search the database easily and borrow the materials at ease.• Computers in the library are provided with OPAC (Open Access Catalogue) which students can use for the specific search (like Author wise, Title wise, etc.) and book location in a college library. The Digital Library has all the information in digital form; e-books e-journals, e- databases, and NPTEL National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning). The Digital Library provides E-learning through web and video courses in engineering & technology subjects as per the VTU syllabus. The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has entire campus is provided with an internet bandwidth of 100 Mbps from BSNL (70 Mbps in FTTH plan and 40 Mbps in National Mission on Education Scheme through ICT plan). Nearly 400computers are networked with high-speed LAN and the total campus is Wi-Fi enabled. These facilities are utilized by the students and faculty members to carry out their academic activities like project work, presentation of papers for conferences and seminars, downloading the required information and browsing, etc.

The college has a spacious, airy, well-furnished, and hygienic canteen on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions, and even work on assignments and projects. The canteen can accommodate more than 100 students. The coffee bar on campus provides light refreshments and chats.

The college has An auditorium that is very well furnished for conducting extracurricular programs. It is well spacious and accommodates over 1200 students at a time. A seminar hall with a minimum of 450 seating capacity, available on the campus. It is well equipped with audio and visual systems. Events such as small meetings and infra department level seminars/symposia, etc are organized here.

The college has 17 college buses providing transportation facilities to the students coming from different corners of Mysore.

GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had organized the 5th Alumnae Meet on 19th May 2018 in the Seminar Hall of GSSSIETW. The chief guest for the event was Smt. Mouna Monnappa Sr. Commercial Promoter American Express, Muscat, Academic Governing Council member GSSSIETW, Mysuru. Alumnae working in different organizations attended the meet and shared their memories during this event. During this Occasion, the Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine Sponsored by Alumnae Association GSSSIETW was inaugurated by Chief Guest Smt. Mouna Monnappa, Sr. Commercial Promoter American Express, Muscat, Academic Governing Council member GSSSIETW, Mysuru, and Dr. M Shivakumar. Principal GSSSIETW, Mysuru.The Chief Guest Smt. Mouna Monnappa shared her memories, as a student in the College and motivated the young women engineers to take up challenges in society and serve the nation. She also enlightened the students about social responsibilities.
