Admission at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University Mumbai for two years Masters in Management Studies (MMS) Programme will be done through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Maharashtra. For this purpose DTE conducts MAH-MBA/MMS-CET . For its academic session 2018-20 batch application process was open from 22-01-2018 to 17-02-2018.

A fix Graduation score is required to be eligible for CET exam. You must have at least 50 percent in graduation in order to be eligible for the exam. You’ll be shortlisted for the admission process on the basis of your CET score. If you qualify the exam cutoff which is declared by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra) and CET participating institutes separately, you’ll be called for further selection rounds i.e. interview, writing test or group discussion. However, 15% of the total seats available are reserved for foreign candidates/NRI/Persons of Indian origin/Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries. Two-third of these seats are reserved for PIOs/Foreign Nationals.

Yes, you can pursue this course. JBIM is one of the best colleges in India.

Reasons:

Placements: The placements are excellent. The average stipend for summer internships was 1.61 lakhs for 2 months while the highest was 4.5 lakhs. The average CTC offered was above 18 lakhs in the final placements of the 2017 batch. JBIMS is known for finance and the placements say it all. You name a company and it is there. Consulting roles are very few, so our core operations and HR. But marketing is pretty good in terms of placements.

Infrastructure: JBIMS lags behind in terms of infrastructure. Though basic facilities are provided, one expects more from such a reputed B-school. Classrooms are decent but of an old style, equipped with projectors and ACs (some of them). We have a great library having a good collection of books. Wi-Fi works but there are no labs in the institute. Having said all, it has proposed to build a new building for the institute in Kalina.

Faculty: One of the reasons that I love JBIMS is the visiting faculty members who teach here. You get mesmerized when industry stalwarts teach you. Only 6 faculty members are in-house; rest of them are guests. But the pedagogy is mostly traditional. Computer-based learning is still a distant target for us. For operations, the student to faculty ratio is good, but for others, it is not.
