JCT Polytechnic College, Pichanur, was started in 2014, is an Affiliated College, located at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is a Technical institute affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers programmes in diploma for Engineering fields. Located at Salem, JCT Polytechnic College occupies an area of 6.38 acre and has a total admitted students’ strength of 1024 and teachers’ strength of 50. The college offers seven diploma courses in different engineering fields as per the alternative interests of the technician and engineers.

JCT Polytechnic College’s students academically and personally. N wes campus has provided dormitories for boys and girls respectively with full-time care takers commonly known as wardens. There is conveniently located First Aid Medical Centre with General Practitioner who visits the campus and a lady gynecologist for anything health related student needs. For physical fitness, the college provides an opportunity to gym facility to all the students. It is a knowledge centre and is supplied with necessary textbooks, reference books, national and international journals etc. The library has bar-coding and microfilming to support its fully automated system with advanced software. Custodians of sporting activities can opt to use the indoor sporting facilities as well as the outdoor sporting facilities to encourage development of exercises and recreation.

JCT Polytechnic College at present has seven diploma courses to which all are of full time bases. The courses consist of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Computer Technology; agriculture Engineering; petro- chemical Engineering; Automobile Engineering; and Civil Engineering. The overall enrolment capacity of these courses approved by the authorities is 330 students with defined intake of each course varying from 30 to 60 students. It is because of this diverse range of programmes, students can select any of the field of their interest and career preference.

The admission procedure of JCT Polytechnic College is mainly centralised and the allotted seats also follow AICTE Guidelines for admission. The institute also has management quota intake for different branches for students who meet general and appropriate requirements. There is no information as to particular dates of exams, however it should be noted that every candidate is supposed to remain informed with the associated college’s current bulletins concerning admission procedures and the corresponding deadlines. The college alumni are highly placed in various capacities in India and other parts of the world since the college has close relations with them.
