That rank is decent enough. but now the thing is that which stream do you want. the higher ones might be difficult to get, but you can always fill in for the upgradation!
All the best. Do good.
Hii aspirant...
You will be given choice to fill these two colleges Kalyani Government Engineering College(KGEC) and Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College(JGEC) only if you are having domicile of West Bengal.
A student having home state quota of West Bengal is only allowed to take admission in this government colleges and all other outside state students who are not having domicile of West Bengal and not allowed to do the choice filling of seat allotment for these two colleges and neither allowed to get admission in these colleges as these are the colleges providing seat only for home state students.
Hope it helps.
Best of luck for your future.
Hi Somenath, You have got a good rank but I don't think you can get CSE in Kalyani Government Engineering college. You may get other branches except IT in KGEC so I'm advicing you to wait for further councelling of WBJEE. Don't be sad if you can't make this college try some other good colleges as you have got a good rank. Don't lose hope try some other government college's for admission.

Hi,
For both these colleges, not many core companies come for recruitment purpose. A few do come, but they hire very few students. It is mostly the generic companies that visit and hire. CS and IT students are better placed, but they also take students from electrical. The average package is around 3-4 Laks for both colleges according to statistics available on their website.
Here I have only mentioned about campus placements. Being a government college, one stands a good chance to be recruited in dream companies in all of the branches if you apply for off-campus placements.
All the best.
Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) provides an excellent learning environment with its well-equipped labs, spacious library, and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity across hostels and classrooms. Spanning 75 acres, the campus offers ample recreational facilities, including a sports club and room, ensuring a balanced student life. The hostels are comfortable with decent food and study-friendly spaces, while the campus also supports accessibility for all students.
The college is having a great campus area with average infrastructure and good professors who are specialist in their own fields...the classrooms are non AC but standard with the normal black boards and wifi facility is available and labs are properly equipped with ac facilities
The campus spans 76 acres, with greenery, ponds, and gardens providing a calm and eco-friendly environment . College has several buldings. AAB is newly constructed. Most of the labs has sufficient Instruments. Few labs need renovation but that labs are managable if you have a laptop. Hostels are considered clean, affordable, and safe for students from different economic backgrounds. Campus life is vibrant, with around 14–15 active clubs such as Riyaaz (Music), Elysium (Dance), SAC (Automobile Club), Robotics Society (robotics club), Dev Community, KeyGEn Coders (Coding Club), GDGOC etc. KGEC organizes major annual events, the most famous being "Espektro", recognized as West Bengal’s second-largest collegiate fest. The atmosphere during fests, hackathons, and robotics events adds greatly to student engage
