No your rank is not enough to get a seat in kalyani government engineering college. You will not get in any government engineering college with good streams. You are suggested to take admission in private colleges like iem, uem, techno india, heritage.

Hello Mrinmoy Mahapatra.

As per per previous years cutoff, in specific last 2 years 2017 and 2018, cutoff for Computer Science and engineering has not crossed 2200 at the end of round 3. So, unless there is great Upset in the merit list, you seem to have a very little or close to no chance of getting Computer Science and Engineering in Kalyani Government Engineering College.

However, you can go for Information Technology in the same college. There is marginally any difference between the two.

Yes gmr rank of kgec is around 2k.. You will get this college

Hello,

Yes you have fair chances of getting admission in this colleg with this rank as per the previous years cutoff .

But mostly It will depend on which branch you choose.

All the Best

Chances are a little less that you'll get into Kalyani Government Engineering college because your category rank is also not something that is near their requirements. But you can focus on other colleges under WBUT that have decent placements like

  • Techno India Salt Lake Kolkata
  • Kolaghat Institute of Technology
  • Asansol Engineering college
  • Dr BC Roy college Durgapur

Good luck

Hi ! No , she can't get admission in Kalyani government college with this rank. It requires within 5000 rank to get into it. If her luck is too much good then she get a worst stream in mop up round. Still then no chance. But preference is that she will get Heritage institute of technology and other good private institutions and that is much better than Kalyani government college in terms of placement and all. So hope you understand and wishes her best of luck from mine.

Here is the list of last year cut off in JULY and KGEC.

Hello Gulshan,

Kalyani Government Engineering College has not declared rhe 2019 cut-off yet however we can answer you question based on previous year's cut-off which is also an important factor in deciding the 2019 cut-off.

You haven't mentioned the branch that you are interested in and also your category so I'm assuming you belong to the general category.

In 2018, there were 4 rounds of cut-off for each of the branches in this college. The last closing rank for general category at the end of Round-4 for all the branches was as follows-

  • Electrical Engineering- 3960 rank
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering- 3235 rank
  • Computer Science & Engineering- 2316 rank
  • Mechanical engineering- 5329 rank
  • Information Technology- 5220 rank

With your rank of 12800 you do not have chances of admission in this college, until and unless you belong to the SC/ST Category because then you have good chances of admission as the cut-off for them is much lower.

You can get the course-wise cut-off trends for this college using the below link-

Hope this helps.
