Kgec is a good college. But demand for it is little less than cse. If you can succeed in coding then there is no problem though. But I will suggest you to change your stream in the mop up or decentralized round. Go for ece, mechanical engineering, ee, or cse if you get

No doubt CSE is more far better than ECE and also good placement scenario in Kalyani Government Engimeering College .As you are little confused then if you are interested in coding and little knowledge about computer program and application then go for CSE branch as it have good package for off campus placement also which is little less in ECE .

Many companies visit college every and offers good package so at last all depends on your choice.

If you are opting to study in a Core Dept.the priority list is:

1. JGEC
2. KGEC
3. IEM

NOW,

KGEC is in vicinity of a metropolitan city like Kolkata. So,int terms of location it has a bigger advantage than JGEC.

But , JGEC is always reputed to have the best faculties in Core dept. Being a Govt. College,the lab faclities in EE dept. of JGEC are better than any other pvt. college(thats for sure).

Core dept . is always better in any Govt. College than in any pvt. College.

But if you want to grab a job in an IT firm rather than any Power sectors( meant for EE) , IEM has an upper hand than its counterparts.

Thus the choice of preference is upto. you.

thanks for asking your query as per your performance in wbjee you got a good rank which will suffice you to get kalyani government college in spot round but branch prediction cannot be done for spot round because it is the last round and most of the seats of colleges are filled.
