According to the given percentile your predicted rank will lie somewhere around 39,692-44,620 , and since you belong to obc category you can easily get a seat into nit. You can also get a seat in NIT Silchar (northeast nit) . Regarding the branch , I would suggest to you to prefer your interest among the branches you are getting because at the end of the day you would not get boredom in studying your interest.

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains as closing rank keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

Closing rank for some of the IIITs for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for obc category  :-

• Indian Institute of Information Technology, Agartala,  Computer Science and Engineering  :- 14775 obc rank

• Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, Information Technology:- 14417 obc rank

• Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Dharwad, Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 15280 obc rank

• Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur, Mechatronics Engineering:- 16682  obc rank

So, to get a seat in IIITs you should get target at least around 15,000 - 16,000 OBC rank i. e  around at least 94.5 - 95 percentile .

It is quite difficult to tell about the college without any proper rank but based on to previous years analysis I can tell the approximate percentile which can lead you to these college.

Taking you as an outsider having no home state qouta.

You need to score something around 80+ percentile to book a seat in the above mentioned college that too in a decent branch.

There are two ways you can follow to check the placement packages and details by visiting the official website. Another thing is that you can search the name of your college followed by career360. For example, you want to know about NIT Warangal. Then on google search you can go and search 'NIT WARANGAL career360' and the link you will get in the first suggestion visit it and you will find option of placements. Click on it you will get the placement rate and if you slide down you can get the median package.

There are a total of 25 IIITs in India, and all of them has different placement records. Just like you cannot compare placements of IIT Bombay  with that of a relatively newer IIT like IIT Bhubaneshwar, in the same way, median package of all the IIITs differ.

If you had any specific IIIT in mind, then its placement records could be discussed.

It depends on which IIITs or NITs you are talking about. If you are getting admission in top IIIT for Computer science then you must opt that , like IIIT Hydrabad, Gwalior, Guwahati, Jabalpur and Banglore.

And if you are getting in the following mentioned NITs, then you must join this as these NITs have best placement record for ECE over others:

NIT Trichy,  Warangal , Surathkal,  Allahabad, Calicut and Rourkela.

Other than this, if you are interested in only CS or only ECE then choose according to your interest as both IIITs and NITs are considered top institutes for engineering.

Talking about drop year, it is a good score. I will suggest you to go for JoSSA counselling and JEE Advanced. If results are not satisfactory in the counselling and JEE Advanced then you can think about drop year. But for now you have other chances left for this session.
