Hello,

IIITs are information technology-focused institutes (IT). When an institute focuses on a single branch, it is believed to be superior than other institutes that provide a wide range of options.

The top  IIITs in India are -

IIIT Allahabad, IIITDM Kancheepuram, IIITDM Jabalpur  , ABV-IIITM Gwalior, IIITDM Kurnool,IIIT Hyderabad.IIIT Bangalore,IIIT Delhi

Where the last 3 are not under the central govt. For each of these colleges, you must complete separate forms. They admit students based on their jee mains score/rank. These institutions are free to set their own regulations. The fees is quite high.

You can get into other IIIT's through CSAB counselling. Fees is quite low in these
institutes.

One of the most appealing aspects of NITs is that they are autonomous, with each institute having the ability to develop its own curriculum. Furthermore, they are among the best engineering schools in the country. There are now 31 NITs in India, one in each state or region.

Top  NITs in India

  • NIT Trichy
  • NIT Rourkela.
  • NIT Surathkal.
  • NIT Warangal.
  • NIT Kurukshetra.
  • NIT Durgapur.
  • NIT Allahabad.
  • NIT Calicut.
  • NIT Jaipur.

Hope it helped

Good luck!!

Hello Aspirant,

According to your percentile, your rank would fall somewhere Around 3-4 lakh . With this percentile you cannot get admission into any of the NITs, or IIITs . You can try in any State University, and if you belong to some reserved category then it's even better.

HOPE THIS HELPS

GOOD LUCK!

Dear Aspirant,

Your percentile is good but it's not enough for you to grab a seat in any of the NITs and IIITs. Again, that's my perspective. I believe that if you belong to some reserved category then also chances are slim. Even if you get the college somehow, there is minimal chance that you grab the most popular branch CS. So, I suggest don't trade your branch for a college.
To know exactly about your chances check out this link: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hope this Helps!
Good Luck

Dear student,

I hope you are doing well.

Now if we try to find the rank on the percentile you have mentioned by the help of some previous year cutoff then we will find that your rank will lie somewhere between 416054 - 467705 .

You can check your rank yourself by using our rank predictor tool. I am attaching the link for it below.

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

You should note that the actual rank and predicted rank can vary slightly as it depends on various factors.

Now as you have mentioned that you are Gen-PWD then for Gen-PWD you can get any NITs except top 3,4 NITs with the rank you have mentioned. Though you may not get CSE in some NITs but you have chance to get CSE in some of the available NITs.

I could not mention all the NITs cutoff for Gen-PWD but you can check each by yourself.

Having said that,  I will also suggest you give your best for the remaining attempts of JEE Main which will be held soon in this month(July). To go through the supplement designed by our experts to boost your JEE Main preparation. Below I am adding the link of it too.

To know which colleges you can get on your rank along with the ones i have mentioned above, you can check our college predictor tool. Below I am attaching the link of it.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the very best!!

Hello Pawan Teja,

You better choose to join in any of the NIT's because as per your interest and percentile for a percentile of 97.5 and general category you can get a seat in CSE or ECE in IIT but you may have to prefer excluding the top ten or twelve it that is you may get a seat in CSE or ECE from the 12th of 13th place of IIT,s.

So you can better choose the top NIT'S like Suratkal or Warangal or Calicut for Trichy or any other NIT based on your interest.

When you choose and NIT do remember that NIT are no longer less than IIT's in academic standards infrastructure and even placements.

And if you are to ask my opinion studying in top NIT is better than studying in the second grade IIT whatever the branch it be.

Dear Aspirant,

as you have not specified as to which category you belong to in your query, assuming you belong to general category, based on the cutoff for the previous years, the chances for you to be able to secure a seat at any of the IIITs is less. However, given below are some of the colleges you are eligible to secure a seat at,

  • KIT College of Engineering, Kolhapur
  • Pillai College of Engineering, Mumbai
  • G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur
  • Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, Indore
  • Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur
  • Amity University, Noida
  • Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai
  • D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune
