hi,

see cutoff percentile changes every year and there is some determining factors like number of applicants, students category, choice of stream, seat matrix, questions difficulty level plays a vital role while it comes to seat allotment of colleges. now february 2021 session wise up top scorer jee main paper 2 percentile is     99.8346424, so it would be a tough chances for you to secure nits or school of planning based on this score. so I would suggest to try harder and bring score of 95+ percentile in next session exam.

Hello student,

Actually each year the cut off trend changes and it depends upon some factors like difficulty of question paper ,number of students etc.so it is quite difficult to tell about the right thing however the all data is according to previous years. It is also quite difficult for us to tell about the percentile. But if you get over then 98 percentile you can definitely get a seat intop 5 NITs and IIITs for General category. Here is a list of top 5 NIT

  • NIT Trichy
  • NIT surathkal
  • NIT Rourkela
  • NIT Warangal
  • NIT Calicut

And top IIIT s are

Hi

With 77 percentile

Your sc rank will be around 15,000.

With above  rank, you have very low   chances in NITs.

For example,

Your home state is Bihar so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT Patna but even under state quota your  chances are very low in NIT Patna.

For instance, In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, the closing rank for SC category in NIT Patna was 7862 sc rank under home state quota  and it was for mechanical engineering.

Under other state also, your chances are very low.

For example, under other state quota closing rank for some of the lower NIT for SC category is provided below as 6th josaa counselling 2020 :-

  • NIT Mizoram :- civil engineering :- 8376 sc rank

  • Nit Ap, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering :- 8450 sc rank

  • National Institute of Technology Agartala    Production Engineering :- 9207 sc rank

Your chances for IIITs are also very low.

For example,

IIIT Una, Himachal Pradesh is one of the lower IIITs and in 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 closing rank for SC category was 9967 sc rank and it was for information technology

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction of is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc

You can try for Government Engineering College through state counselling.  To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

On the basis of Fees (for BTech course)

The average semester fees of both colleges are almost similar and lies in the range of INR 65,000 to 72,000. The hostel fees are also identical and lies in the range of INR 28,000 to 32,000.
