Hello,

For admission in NIT and IIT you need to 75% marks in 12th class for general category student. Other category student have minimum 65% marks in 12th marks. You have to clear JEE mains examination and your rank must between 1500. Then go for JEE advanced examination. After all these you have to qualify for IIT or NIT.

Above link will give every details about JEE advanced examination criteria.

All the best.

Hello,

Every year aspirants will differ in JEE Mains examination. Due to research last year 2020 total 9,34,000 students are applied for JEE mains examination and in 2018 total 11,40,000 students were applied. So in this time could not possible to predict how much students will apply for JEE mains but near 10lakh you can imagine.

And if you get any government college via JEE mains then you get 360 marks minimum. Because then you will get IIT or NIT colleges. And the average marks will 150 approx for get a good college.

All the best.

Hello,

If you are aspiring for top NITs, your rank should be less than 10,000. However, newer NITs accept candidates who are above 50,000 rank in JEE Main.

It also depends on the reservation policy of the respective institute.

  • The students scoring more than or equivalent to JEE Main cutoff marks along with scoring minimum 75% of marks in their Class 12 board exams (65% for Reserved Category candidates) will be considered as qualified for getting admission in NIT through JEE Main.
  • For getting admission in NIT Colleges, the candidate should rank within the opening and closing ranks of different undergraduate courses offered at NITs and IITs.

As IITs and nit are top rated Institution of India you markes should be good enough too.

Hope this helps!!

Hi

Which category do you belong to?

As per JEE information bulletin 2021,
To be NITs, IIITs and CFTIs one needs least 75% marks in 12th class examination or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class . For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks is 65% in the class 12th board examination.

Now,
if you belong to Sc/st category then with 74.6 % you are eligible for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs as minimum requirement is 65 % in the class 12th board examination for SC/ST.

Even if you belong to general category then you're eligible for with 74.6 percent NITs, IIITs and CFTIs .

This is because,

For those who have passed their board examination in 2020, minimum percentage requirement in 12th board examination was not applicable.

Also,
top 20 percentile for all the boards is released by JoSAA every year and it's not like if you have passed your 12th board examination in 2020,you will have to fulfill the top 20 percentile requirement of 2021 Board examinations. One has to fulfill the top 20 percentile requirement of the year in which he has passed in 12th board examination .

So, if you have passed your 12th UP board examination in 2020 you need to be in the top 20 percentile of UP board examination 2020 but top 20 percentile list was not applicable for 2020 board students and so Jossa didn't release the top 20 percentile list . Now that, there is no top 20 percentile list for 2020 , being passed in 2020 there is no top 20 percentile requirement to be fulfilled by you and thus you are eligible .

Now, limited time is left for jee mains 2021 , so to prepare well your jee examination, go through chapters first and your focus should be on grasping concepts , practising questions and then revising them, go through mock test paper sample papers and previous year question papers as it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination.

To prepare well you can go for our jee program at the convenience of your home, the link for the same is provided below

Hello aspirant

For scoring 130-135 marks in JEE mains under the OBC category you can expect your rank between 16K- 13K. You can expect OBC rank between 3K - 4K. Hence for that rank, you have a good chance to get a seat at CSE, IT, ECE in NIT Raipur, NIT Goa, NIT Delhi, NIT Bhopal, NIT Andhra Pradesh, and many more colleges.

All the best!!!!

Hi.

You have not mentioned the NIT or IIIT you are interested in. So, I will try to answer your question with NIT Trichy which is one of the top NITs.

So, the closing rank for OBC NCL in CSE was 2008 in round 6 in 2020 under Home State Quota.

For Other State Quota, the rank was 242.

As you can see these are category ranks and there is no exact category rank vs marks chart available, so exact marks cannot be unknown but tentatively, it should be above 160 marks, which should land you in a decent NIT or IIIT.

Good Luck

Hi.

JEE is a super competitive exam, nationwide. You will not be able to get branches with high demand such as IT or CSE with 135 marks. Tentatively, you need to get 160+ marks for better chances of these courses in NIT and IIIT.

Good Luck

Hi,

Yes, JEE Mains is compulsory for taking admission into any NITs/IIITs. Class 12 marks are just considered for eligibility criteria for admission into these institutions, but JEE Mains score is the only examination/process by which candidates can get admission into NITs/IITs.

Hi Vijeta!

You have to undergo any of the below Exams for the admission Process in IIIT Hyderabad:

  • JEE Main
  • UGEE
  • SPEC
  • LEEE
  • Olympiad / KVPY
  • DASA

For Computer Science and Engineering, you must have the the following Eligibility Criteria:

  • Completed 10 +2 in any recognised Board.
  • Minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM.
  • Decent Rank or Cut Off in the Entrance Exam.

Hope this is helpful!

All the best!
