Hello Rahul! According to the new fees structure followed by IIIT Jabalpur since 2018, fees for General and OBC category is the same (Rs.80,040 for 2020-2021). Fees waiver is only for SC/ST students:

  1. with parent income more than 2 lakhs: RS.20,750
  2. with parent income less than 2 lakhs: RS.15,500

Your fees might be waivered in case you own any government scholarships.

Hope this helped!

Dear aspriant,

According to your rank, it is next to impossible to get any seat in IIIT or nit.

You can look for gfti like guru ghasidas, bilaspur and Assam University. B ut you  have to wait for csab round for that also.

But i would personally recommend you to go for any other college other than these,if you are not willing to take a drop.

Dear aspriant,

According to your rank ,it is very difficult to get into top 15 nits but you have a chance to get into lower nits like Meghalaya,Mizoram and other parallel nits but you should take part in csab rounds to increase your possibility to get a seat.

Hello Student,

Both the NIT's and IIIT's have their own benefits. As the case of NIT's there are nearly 31 NIT's in India .And all the NIT's generally provide all the courses for engineering . The salary package is very nice in NIT's . Also the college life is very good and enjoyable.

Now the IIIT's , they are also many in India. They generally provide courses related to IT sector. College life is less enjoyable then NIT's . Package is also good because of core branches here.

If you have interest in IT branches like CSE , ECE ,IT then you must go to IIIT's  , because they only have these branches and also the package is very good.

But if you want to explore college life alongwith a good branch and a good placement then you can stay at NIT's .

And in my opinion if you are a IT sector lover then you must go to IIIT's besides taking some low branches at NIT's.

Hope this helps.

Hello Aspirant,

There is nothing to ask that what should you choose, IIIT Sonepat is better than  iiit kota college  so obviously you should take CS at IIIT Sonepat.

  • Placements of IIIT Sonepat are far better .
  • IIIT Sonepat is now independent from its mentor so this is also a plus point to take iiit sonepat as iiit’s students of iiits which are running at nits or iits are treated very badly.
  • IIIT Sonepat would have its own placement cell soon.
  • IIIT Sonepat is near to delhi so this is also an advantage.
  • Many of the startups are running at same campus of iiit soenpat(iit delhi-technopark) so it would be easy to get internship.

Hello Student,

A rank of 57000 in CRL is a bit low of a rank. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately the top nits and IIITs would be tough to get into with this score. Also other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes ( CFTIs) such as the IITs also would be a bit tough.

And, since you have mentioned that you belong to the EWS category, the chances of you getting into some some of these universities are a bit more. There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into.

Some other good universities with this rank would be:

1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur

3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh

4. CBIT

5. Delhi university

6. Vasavi College

Hey Arjun

Both the courses and institutes are great so it really depends on which course interests you the most. If you are interested in placements and faculty then I can give you a short idea but the rest is up to you.

IIIT Kanchipuram CSE- It was ranked 66 for engineering by JEE Cutoff 2019. Around 80% of the students get placed with the highest salary being 9 or 10 lkh per annum and ana verage salary of 5 lakh per annum in companies like  Trimble, Zoho, Scientific Games, Information View, L&T, TCS, etc. The faculty is excellent ( PhD holders from IITs and foreign institutes).

IIIT Lucknow CS-AI -It was ranked 61 for engineering by JEE Cutoff 2019. The placements are almost a 100% with an average package of 11.5 LPA, and highest package being 18.5 LPA. The companies that come here for placements include   Direct, Acko, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Goldman Sachs, Expedia, Paytm, HashedIn, Tata and many more. Without any doubt, the education here is at par with NITs with all th efaculty having  a PhD.

Hello Aspirant,

According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs/IIITs with CSE, ECE or IT like top branches as per previous year's cut-offs even if you deserves Home state quota for them but yes I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Hello Aspirant,

For ECE it's not good because if your score is above 6.5(minimum CPI required for placement) you will be placed in some or the other software companies with some luck or even MNCs with good package but core companies.

If talked about CSE then IIIT Jabalpur has been considered an good IIIT for great placements with recognised companies

The teaching is great for both the branches in IIIT Jabalpur but if talked about placements ECE branch has less placements compared to CSE.

So overall it's a great college. I have talked about some key points now its up to you to decide.

Hope this helps

Good Luck

Hello Aspirant,

Your category rank is very low and this rank it is very difficult to get any nit or iiit  college rather than nit or iiit you can go for state college counselling. And here based on your rank I listed some colleges which you can get only when you have state quota for that otherwise their is no chance.

List of colleges:-

  • NIT Agartala
  • NIT Srinagar
  • Assam University Silchar
