According to your rank and category , you can try for some iiit's like pune , bhagalpur , una , surat , kalyani etc which have a lower cutoff , otherwise you can try for your home state nit also , as the cutoff is generally lower , same is the case with north eastern nit's , the cutoff is generally lesser . Some good colleges like bit mesra and pec chandigarh also participate in josaa , so you can get a decent branch like production etc , in them .

Do apply for home state counselling also as you can get some good state government engineering colleges in your state .  Hence do apply for the csab round and state government counselling and you might get a good college .

In your rank (i.e. obc ncl) you can get nit meghalaya, nit hamirpur, iiit kota like these colleges. In these nits or iiits you'll get seat but there's very less chances to get cse, mechanical branches.

according to past years cutoff range with your specified rank and category the chances are less for you to get a seat in any of the NITs. However your rank and category are well suited for a seat in some of the IIIT such as IIIT Delhi and IIIT Pune.

Based on placement statistics and alumni reviews, and NIRF Ranking, CSE in IIIT Guwahati will be the best option. You can also have a second opinion of ECE in IIIT Jabalpur, but ECE from the IIIT Kancheepuram will not be that good option.

Why CSE from IIIT Guwahati -

1. IIT Guwahati, as a mentor institute, takes care of placements and internships.

2. Faculties are good.

3. Great infrastructure and hostel accommodation.

Fees for I I t s means international institute of information Technology-24000-48000 rupees annually.

With 85 percentile marks,it is difficult to take admission in NIT or IIT...you can give jee advanced exam and score in that much better and there are many other good private and government colleges like thapar university,pec chandigarh etc, by JOSAA councelling in which you can take admission with this percentile.
