Hello aspirant, hope you are doing good.

So, the cutoff ranks of a college usually increase or decrease to a slight extent, because of factors like number of seats available, the highest marks obtained in the examination , and even the toughness of the exam. This year as well, the no. of seats in each colleges are possibly fixed, so that's not getting changed, the only change might be that this year, fewer students appeared for the exam. Now, the affect of that in the cutoffs is yet to be known, you can only know that during the counselling, it's not easy to predict.

If you want to know about all the colleges you can get into , with your JEE Mains rank, you can get it here:

Hope this helps you. Good Luck!!

Yes there are some Government Sponsored Technical Institutes which conduct admission through JoSAA Counselling. Some of the GFTIs and private colleges are mentioned below which use JoSAA counselling for admission.

  1. IIEST Shibpur
  2. University of Hyderabad
  3. Punjab Engineering College
  4. National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat, Haryana
  5. Central University of Rajasthan, Rajasthan
  6. Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry
  7. Ghani Khan Choudhary Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malda, West Bengal
  8. Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi
  9. HNB Garhwal University Srinagar (Garhwal)

14% of the total available seats are reserved for the female candidates in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. As for example if in any NIT the total number of seats is 800, the seats reserved for girls are 112. It does not mean that rest seats are reserved for boys. There is no seat reserved for a male candidate. Two sub-categories within each quotas have been introduced in 2018 and these are GENDER - Neutral and FEMALE - ONLY.

IIIT Hyderabad is one of the best in India next to top 5 IITs when it comes to placements. Certains companies like Google, Facebook and Apple which visit only the top IITs are regular visitors at IIIT Hyderabad. Not only placements, IIIT Hyderabad is an even good institution when it comes to Research in fields of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Having a huge locational advantage and being  located in IT hub of Hyderabad and Cyberabad further adds to a sea of opportunities.

The average package of CSE and ECE at IIIT Hyderabad is somewhere between 18-22LPA and the institute claims almost 100% Placements each year.

NIT Rourkela is expertises in Core Engineering Branches and has one of the best Mechanical, Metallurgical and Electrical Departments of India with substantial Placements. As far as CSE and ECE are concerned, IIIT Hyderabad definitely has an advantage over NIT Rourkela.

Dear student,

As you have secured 93709 rank in JEE mains with your OBC category then it is quite impossible for you to get a seat in any NIT or IIIT or gftis.

For getting a seat you must secure at least under 13000 OBC rank to get a seat in NIT and below 4000 for an IIIT.
Nowadays the competitions are increased very much and with this rank from obc category you can't even get the lowest branch in in any NIT or IIIT or in any gfti.

Even if you belong from home state quota then also with this much huge obc rank you can not get any nits or iiits or gftis.
But there might be a chance that you can get some lower branches in lower colleges, but still with this much rank there chance are negligible even in csab round counseling.
Because your obc rank is around 1lakh. So it is advisable that you go with some other colleges.
So, basically you cannot expect to get any nits or gftis or iiits with this much obc rank.

Hello student,

With a rank of around 12,900 in jee mains exam, you do have chances of securing a seat in nits or iiits when comparing the results of past years. But it largely depends on your state and the category you belong to. However, you can predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the below mentioned link:

See, cutoff of NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs depends upon vacancy of seats of these colleges. You won't observe too much fluctuations in these cutoff ranks because each year the number of seats in these colleges are constant. In the year 2018 there was a fluctuation because supernumerary seats were added up for female candidates. Also in 2019 we observed fluctuation because a new category was introduced named Economically Weaker Section ( EWS ). But this year we observed pandemic and though many students could not appear in exam the ranks vs percentile statistics did not vary much as compared to previous year.

So better not to expect the fluctuations of cutoff ranks. The first round of allocation will be conducted on October 17 and you will come to know how much fluctuation there is compared to previous years.

Good Luck.
