Dear Student ,

With your SC rank, you have not enough chances to get any NIT or IIITs with CSE or IT or any other core subjects  through JOSAA Counselling based on last year cut off ,  but this cut off changes every year due to some unavoidable reasons like :

  • Seat matrix
  • No of students appeared
  • Difficulty level of questions
  • Cut off in different caste category

For this reason , the predictions can never be 100% true .

Check previous year cut off for NIT and IIITs from these links ;

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-nits

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-iiits

You can use this JEE MAIN college predictor link for your reference and  to know your chances of getting any other  colleges through your rank :

Hope this helps !

Best wishes !!

Hi

There's no home state quota in IIITs.

This is quite difficult to predict but when we go through previous year trend then

>>>>> with  36857 obc rank

You have low  chances in IIITs.

For example,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

Closing rank for some of the IIITs for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for obc category  :-

-----------) Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur:- computer science:- 15500 obc rank

-----------) Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur:- computer science :-15168 obc rank

-----------) Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur, Mechatronics Engineering:- 16682  obc rank

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in IIITs you should have at least around 15,000 - 16,000 OBC rank

Some of the  government engineering colleges in which you hold a chance are listed below along with their previous year cut off link :-

------) Tezpur University, Tezpur:- https://www.careers360.com/university/tezpur-university-tezpur/cut-off

------) Assam University, Silchar:- https://www.careers360.com/university/assam-university-silchar/cut-off

-------) Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur :- https://www.careers360.com/university/guru-ghasidas-vishwavidyalaya-bilaspur/cut-off

------) IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar:- https://www.careers360.com/university/ik-gujral-punjab-technical-university-jalandhar/cut-off

This has been predicted on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc

Thankyou

With a Rank of 114k in JEE Main, assuming youre a General Category, you probably will not have chances in securing a seat in any of the IIIT/NIT/GFTI. You should probably apply for your respective State Engineering Colleges, through State Engineering Counselling, if through JEE Main Scorecard. You may even apply in many of the Top Private Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Main Scorecard. Ofcourse you may have better chances in securing a seat incase you have strong certain Categorical Advantage.
