Hi Aspirant!
This thing depends on your priority, i.e. which branch you want to pursue. Now on the basis of placements NIT SURATHKAL is better and have way better NIRF ranking than IIITM Gwalior.
So now if you want to pursue your careers in IT industry or any other I would recommend you to NIT Surathkal because even pursuing in metallurgy you can find various opportunity in NIT Surathkal which is not in gonna happen in IIITM Gwalior.
I hope it helps.

Hello student,
I suggest you yo choose government colleges like NITs,IIITs and GFTIs over any other colleges. If you have chance for NIT warangal or NIT surathkal, then surely go for it they are one of the best NITs in south india. The placements, college life and education is very good in NIT warangal and out of all the three NITs,NIT surathkal has a very good ranking
the median package for engineering students is in NIT warangal 7.45 lakhs
the median package for engineering students in NIT surathkal - 8 lakhs
the median package for engineering students in NIT trichy - 6 lakhs

Hello Student,
Department of metallurgical and materials engineering is truly good at NIT Surathkal.
It is ranked 13th by NIRF.Top and well reputed companies visiting the campus for recruitment, every year.Graduates from this college placed in various companies.
See,placement factor is important but it's also depends on your skills, interest regarding that branch, your knowledge about that branch. And lot of dedication and hard work is required for every branch of engineering.
If you are a hard working student and ready to take in depth knowledge then you will definitely give your best in this branch...!!!
All the best!!!
Hope this helps
Dear aspirant,
According to your query, all of these nits being good so to choose one nit over the other ,it doesnt matter. All of these nits have good placements in their respective branches.
But i would personally recommend you if you are getting nit surathkal or warangal then without any doubt you can go for it as the these nits are considered superior to nit Calicut.
Hello,
yes, surely you can not directly means there isn't any way in which you can get direct benefit of marks but definitely indirectly as most of the first year syllabus is
covered in 12 standard computer science subject i.e c or c++ proggramming ,Digital Electronics ,computer networking a little. So, it definitely helps.
The college had a big name already and it lived by it. It provided a campus considering the comfort of the students incorporating all the necessary facilities like the labs for the science and libraries.
Could be better. Hostels are old. Cleanliness could be improved. People are nice. Staff is decent. They try to do their best but they struggle to accomplish the same. No hot water. Lot of bee hives and I've been bit multiple times. Food is nice.
The course is divided into six trimesters , with three trimesters in each year . The evaluation is based on two components : 50 marks for internal components comprising assignments and presentations , and 50 marks for the end of the semester exam .
