According to your query, all of these nits being good so to choose one nit over the other ,it doesnt matter. All of these nits have good placements in their respective branches.

But i would personally recommend you if you are getting nit surathkal or warangal then without any doubt you can go for it as the these nits are considered superior to nit Calicut.

yes, surely you can not directly means there isn't any way in which you can get direct benefit of marks but definitely indirectly as most of the first year syllabus is

covered in 12 standard computer science subject i.e c or c++ proggramming ,Digital Electronics ,computer networking a little. So, it definitely helps.

But, apart from rank prospective, what matters more is your interest in the branch. This is wholly your decision, just go for the stream you are interested in, because this will be good for you in long-run. Both the branches are equally essential in their corresponding fields, so go with the one you find yourself interested in.

According to your rank by EWS category and considering your choice , it is impossible to get any seat in any branch in nit surathkal as your rank is too high for nit surathkal.

By any means you have to wait for csab round as there is no chance to get a seat in any nits in josaa rounds. Maybe in csab round you can get some lower nits or gfti's

Seeing  previous years cutoff trends and your rank details, it is not possible for you to get NIT K into Civil engineering branch.

Both the NITs are good in their own ways but according to the placement statistics of previous years I have found that NIT SURATHKAL is better than NIT WARANGAL for CSE and IT branch

Placement statistics of both the NITs for CSE branch

NITK SURATHKAL -

Maximum package - Rs. 49 lakhs per annum

Placement percentage of all branches - approx 90%

Placement percentage of CSE branch approx 100%

NIT warangal -

Highest domestic package - Rs. 43.33 lakhs per annum

Placement percentage of all branches - 80 %

Placement percentage of CSE branch - approx 95%

Both of these are really good NITs, however, for the computer science the coding culture you will find in the NIT Surathkal is better than the NIT Jaipur. The coding culture is a very crucial part for the Computer Science, therefore colleges with good coding culture produces highly employable computer science graduates.

You can change your preferences only before locking your choices. Once you lock choices there will be no further changes in your preferences. As locking of choices is done before the starting of allocation you can not add NIT Surathkal in round 2.

However you can change your preferences after Mock Allocation Round 1 and Mock Allocation Round 2. Make sure to arrange your preferences before locking them.
